I'm sorry to hear that CPAhopeful 🙁 I used Becker for all 4 attempts. The first two attempts for FAR were not really attempts (I lost my job before the first one so I just didn't study for the last few weeks, 2nd attempt I was just barely pregnant and very sick and just didn't have energy to study much). 3rd attempt I was 3 days away from having my baby so that wasn't great timing either, but I studied as hard as I could. This last attempt I did give it my best shot without all the other excuses (besides actually having to take care of the new baby and the 3 year old and working full time), but I just fell short.
My Becker expired so I purchased the Yaeger CRAM for this last FAR attempt. I really think this has helped me a lot. It's made me remember what I've learned without tuning out (since I pretty much had the lectures memorized after watching them 4 times). I've watched the Yaeger lectures and done the required homework. I don't really like the Wiley book, so now for my final review, I'm going back through my Becker book and taking notes on 3 chapters, then taking a test from the Wiley online test bank as a progress test. My first test I got 74%, which is better than I did in the Becker Final Exams. And they give you a reminder, but a percentage correct is usually lower than what you would get on the actual test with those answers.
Anyway, all that rambling to say what I did, but obviously I don't know for sure how it'll turn out since I haven't taken FAR since I added Yaeger. If you're like me and will tune out the lectures hearing them the 2nd (3rd, 4th..) time around, you may want to add something to “supplement,” but I wouldn't completely change. I think I for sure would not pass if I just did Yaeger (CRAM at least.. didn't try the full home study). I hope that made some sense 🙂
Congrats to all the passers! I hope I join you next score release!
