Anyone else waiting on their last exam in Texas?

Are you frustrated by the fact that other states released their scores as early as yesterday…

    *Sigh*

    AUD – 7/17/11 – 96

    BEC – 8/31/11 – 90

I've used Gleim for all of my studying. I just have the book and the software download for questions. Read each chapter, take notes, and then do all of the multiple choice questions for the chapter and move on to the next one. It has worked pretty well for me.

    A- 72, 80
    B-76
    F-79
    R- 11/21/11

@CPAhopefulTX….Veronica and killaking were telling the truth! Liliana is the best! She actually does a some things differently that Tim Gearty, which made all the difference to me. Some of his neumonics didn't makde sense but hers did! I learned more from her in the 9 classes and final review than I did in all 4 years of college! She brought everything together. She is doing the same thing for me in AUD.

I'm sorry you didn't pass. I tried CPAExcel before and it wasn't working. I realized I needed a structured classroom because that's how I learn. I tried to keep up with Liliana's schedule she had planned for the first 2 weeks but it was too much for me with a full time job. However, I did pace myself to keep up and worked the MCQ's and Sims. Then after the final review class, I worked the questions from that. I did take the 2 final exams also. Think about how you learn best then go with it.

I hope this helps. You can do this!

    FAR - 63, 79
    AUD - 83!
    REG - 37, 79
    BEC - 70, 79

Thanks guys! All the encouragement really helps. How do I get more information on this lady's classes? I must pass before tax season or it's all going to go down hill.

I'm sorry to hear that CPAhopeful 🙁 I used Becker for all 4 attempts. The first two attempts for FAR were not really attempts (I lost my job before the first one so I just didn't study for the last few weeks, 2nd attempt I was just barely pregnant and very sick and just didn't have energy to study much). 3rd attempt I was 3 days away from having my baby so that wasn't great timing either, but I studied as hard as I could. This last attempt I did give it my best shot without all the other excuses (besides actually having to take care of the new baby and the 3 year old and working full time), but I just fell short.

My Becker expired so I purchased the Yaeger CRAM for this last FAR attempt. I really think this has helped me a lot. It's made me remember what I've learned without tuning out (since I pretty much had the lectures memorized after watching them 4 times). I've watched the Yaeger lectures and done the required homework. I don't really like the Wiley book, so now for my final review, I'm going back through my Becker book and taking notes on 3 chapters, then taking a test from the Wiley online test bank as a progress test. My first test I got 74%, which is better than I did in the Becker Final Exams. And they give you a reminder, but a percentage correct is usually lower than what you would get on the actual test with those answers.

Anyway, all that rambling to say what I did, but obviously I don't know for sure how it'll turn out since I haven't taken FAR since I added Yaeger. If you're like me and will tune out the lectures hearing them the 2nd (3rd, 4th..) time around, you may want to add something to “supplement,” but I wouldn't completely change. I think I for sure would not pass if I just did Yaeger (CRAM at least.. didn't try the full home study). I hope that made some sense 🙂

Congrats to all the passers! I hope I join you next score release!

Liliana teaches at the Becker CPA Review in Dallas on 75 & Royal. She is the regional manager. Her husband, William, is also a CPA and he teaches REG, but Liliana teaches all the others.

Can I find more information about signing up for her class on Becker's website. I live in College Station and work full time so, I'd probably only be able to do that final review day.

@CPAhopefulTX – For Becker Final Review you can find the course dates on the Becker website under schedules, final review, Dallas, TX. You can sign up through the customer service number. I did not take FAR but if I had known about this instructor, I would have signed up. Again, it's the instructor that made the difference – not necessarily Becker. I don't enjoy giving any more of my money to them. Good luck to you 🙂

@twest – did you take the REG review? I need to pass that one in February but I wasn't a fan of William during the BEC economics review. Will you be at the AUD class on the 12th? I'll be there, driving in from Austin.

    FAR - 79 (2x)
    AUD - 81 (expired), 77!
    REG - 74! omg (3x) 87!!!!!!! I'm done! OMG!
    BEC - 81 (4x)

I haven't taken REG review yet? I will be doing that in Jan. I've heard that for the REG class, William teaches the tax stuff but they bring in an attorney for the legal stuff. Not sure about the Final Review. Yes, I will be at the AUD Final Review this Saturday.
