Anyone else waiting on their last exam in Texas?

Are you frustrated by the fact that other states released their scores as early as yesterday…

I'll be here. I'm expecting a failing score but I hope that after all this waiting I somehow passed. I'll see you all bright and early. Don't you hate that feeling when you sign into your account and see hoe many credits you have before you even click to view your score. I've been thinking I failed since seeing that every time I log in. I hate it.

@CPAhopefulTX – I'm sorry to hear that, I am afraid of that since I'm taking FAR in less than 3 weeks and am no where near ready 🙁

@twest–what study materials did you use for FAR? I plan on knocking this thing out next quarter. Also how long did you give yourself to study? A week per chapter? That seems like it'd take forever?

I studied 4-5 weeks for each exam and used Becker. You cannot give yourself a set time per chapter. I would watch the lectures, read it, do the homework. Do that for all of them. Then read the book again and do the homework again for each chapter. Anything I got wrong I'd make a flash card out of and review it.

@CPAHopefulTX – FAR was so hard because there is so much info. I'm lucky i passed the second attempt. I had so many issues with BEC that I signed up for Becker's Final Review Course in Dallas, TX. If this is a possbility for you for the FAR final review, you should do it. It's not that I even like Becker – I think it's overpriced and Tim Gearty is probably the most annoying person on the planet – but the woman that teaches the review course is a professor at SMU and she's amazing. She really cares – she even had one of her grad students drive me to the airport and she just met me that day.

It's a one day cram course, about 12 hours with a 30 min. break. It built my confidence for BEC and I went into the exam feeling so much better. I'd totally recommend for FAR so long as Liliana Hickman-Riggs is teaching. Best $275 bucks I've spent.

If that woman ” Liliana Hickman-Riggs” is teaching the final review take the class she is a beast I dont know why UTD let her go, she is so good that they gave her a shout out in the self study class. A TRUE BEAST!

She is very direct but she is so disciplined. She didn't even take a lunch… she used the 30 minute break to help students with questions and then continued teaching until later in the afternoon when someone relieved her for a couple hours. I was impressed. And she has something like 10 designations behind her name… she said “put the highlighter down and stop memorizing. You need to UNDERSTAND.” It worked for BEC!

Thanks for the advice everyone. I used Becker this time and never felt a connection with any of the material. Did anyone find a different study material more helpful?
