Waiting on BEC- Questions about scoring

So I am in the first wave and am anticipating my first CPA score so I don’t really know what to expect. My question is, can someone explain this increasing difficulty thing?

On my BEC test I thought the first testlet was easy (wasn’t sure about 2-3 q’s), second was medium/hard (wasn’t sure about 5-6) and the last was impossible (wasn’t sure about 9 or so). Does this difficulty pattern follow the fact that I probably did well on the first two and it got increasingly harder? I know its not always the same. Also, if you do well on the first two, is the third testlet supposed to be EVEN harder than the 2nd, or is the “hard” level consistent and thus cannot get any harder? I know you guys don’t know for sure, I just want input from some more experienced CPA’ers.

    Thanks

All of your logic is consistent with how everyone thinks the increase in difficulty is taken into account. The hard part is determining what a difficult testlet is. Ive never been able to tell an increase in difficulty, but have gotten high scores. The more you think about it during the test the lower you will perform I think.

Yeah but what about the difficulty of the last testlet if you do well twice?

There are only two options: “medium” and “hard”. The 3rd testlet cannot get “more difficult” if you do well on both the 1st and 2nd.
