Waiting for FAR score release is driving me crazy

I took far on July 31st, and the scores for that date are due out August 21st or 22nd. I must be honest in saying that the anticipation is killing me. I am studying for BEC now and I find myself constantly thinking about the score release I can’t focus. I have trouble sleeping at night as well, always with the thought of the score release in my mind. I have the candidate online score display from NASBA bookmarked and I check it all the time.

Does anyone else go through this? Why can’t they release the damn score already?

I am feeling the same way. Unfortunately I am about 90% sure I failed, and just want to know for sure so I can get myself ready for a re-take come October.

Do you think your pass or failed?

I'm waiting for my last score and going insane…………………. you are not alone.

To be honest, I really don't know. The first testlet was a breeze, I believe I flagged three or four questions i didn't know. The second testlet was a tad bit harder but I couldn't really tell whether or not if it was “medium” or “hard” in terms of difficulty, as for the third one. The simulations on the other hand…. Well those are a different story. I know I nailed the two research sims (I am assuming one was a pretest). Of the other 5, I felt comfortable with 2 and the other 3 were the equivalent of a hook and ladder football play (very desperate lol). I finished with 9 minutes left and I reviewed the sims as best as I could but you really can only do so much in 9 minutes.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if I failed but at this point I just want my grade for some closure.

I'm right with you guys!!! My first testlet took an hour!!! I couldn't believe how long it took to get through it! Now my mind is playing tricks on me… Did I use this method when they asked for that method?? Wow, that second testlet was too easy? OMG I just don't know which way it's going to go! Score release can't get here fast enough!!

…and yes, I've checked my score on ILBOA already. :/

I'd start checking online for my scores the day after I took each test even though I knew there was no possibility of them being there lol. Checked almost every day up until they were released and on release day checked constantly. Especially for my last score, FAR. For some reason CA took a day longer than the rest of the country. It was torture.

I don't see why it isn't immediate (except for BEC) UNLESS….there is a curve that the AICPA keeps denying.

    Good luck to you all!

I took it last week and it's killing me, couldn't even imagine having to wait from July 31.

Did any of you guys notice testlets getting more difficult? To me, I felt it stayed the same for each one.

I didn't feel great about MC, I marked like 10 per testlet so 30 in total roughly. There were like 3 I completely guessed on and the rest I was almost always down to 2 choices. I'm hoping the law of averages work in my favor and I was able to get half of the ones I marked but I'm not holding my breath.

SIMs for me weren't overly difficult though.

Overall, I'm a nervous wreck. I felt decent coming out of the exam but the more I read posts and the more I think about it, I just don't think I did well enough on the MC to pass.

I think I read somewhere (don't remember where) that scores are usually released between 9pm-12am (closer to 12) the night before the scheduled score release. So should I start checking at 9pm tomorrow? What do you guys think?

    BEC: I defeated the Siren!
    AUD: I eliminated Medusa!

I also took FAR on July 31 (California) and am studying for BEC. Every time I check on NASBA it says:

“This jurisdiction does not support online score reporting at this time.”

Does anyone else get that message? I am dying to know if I passed.

fealink: I think you should check the state board website since CA is not NASBA state. And I believe they release score 1 day later than NASBA, again because we are not NASBA state. Good luck!

@fealink – you will get your score on your CBA exam account.

I took FAR on 7/22 and I'm studying for BEC. I've been hoping for a passing score to help me push through and concentrate on BEC. I'm a week from test day and I'm not ready:-( If I didn't pass FAR I'm postponing this test. Oh the torture. I actually had a dream that I got a 97. I'm hoping for a 79. Or a 75 would be perfect too. Oh please just tell me I passed, please!!!!!!

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.

I also took FAR on 7/22. So frustrated that the scores have been delayed. I am not confident that I will see pass, but one never knows.

For those of you who used Roger, what are your honest opinions? I have used Yaeger, but get sooooo bored! πŸ™

This is my second go around with the exam. I took and passed two parts a couple of years ago, but then we had a child who became quite ill. I lost those parts, but now he is healthy and I am back on the saddle again.

I sat for REG once and received a 77. BEC I sat for twice, scored a 73 the first time and then passed with a 75. Both of those exams were taken within a 7 week period of one another. I attempted AUD three times, the closest I got was a 74. I attempted FAR three times and scored a 71 the last time I took it. I know I am so close so I really don't want to throw in the towel.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the tip on NASBA you guys!

Nancy in Illinois: I used Roger and Wiley software. I really enjoy the lectures from Roger and his memory aids. It is also pretty relevant to what I saw on the FAR exam. I too find Wiley a little boring. I wish there was something like Roger++ where he did his own homework book.

StephAV: I am hoping that a passing score will encourage me for BEC as well, which I am taking on the 30th. I hope we all see passing scores.

Good Luck everyone! I guess we will all be put out of our misery soon. πŸ™‚

I have two tests riding on this result. If I pass, im all done. If I fail, I have to take audit and far again.
