Wait … what?

So, earlier this week I got my Audit Score back. It was a 74. That kills me inside, because I actually walked out of the testing center with confidence. To be fair, I had finished the test 2 hours and 10 minutes early. I should have used an additional hour or so to compare my simulations to the authoritative literature. Regardless, when I took my FAR exam before that, I left the testing center feeling sick to my stomach. Based off of the MC and simulations, I was sure I had failed.

I got my FAR score back today… it was an 88. I’ve been told that there is a correlation with testlets getting dramatically harder and doing well on the first testlet. That was my experience with FAR. Everything after the first testlet was extremely difficult. And the simulations … I had simulations on topics Becker didn’t even address. I’m guessing that simulation was probably the no score simulation?

Has anyone else experienced this? Feeling like you did really well on one exam, and then failing, and having the feeling of knowing you failed on another exam, and didn’t just pass it, but also did surprisingly well on it.

I haven't failed anything but I could have sworn I would have scored st least in the 90s for AUD. And I was almost sure that I failed FAR. I had never seen a test like that. It was killer. But I did almost as good on it as I did for AUD!!

    Aud 4/2/11 - 86
    Far 5/27/11 - 83
    Bec 7/1/11 - 82
    Reg 8/13/11 - 86! It's over!!!!

I've found thatwhen you feel like you failed and you need to do pre-cautionary studying as you await your score, you seem to do better. 🙂

I've gotten a 74 two times – both times I thought I might have had a shot at passing so I know your pain all too well. Honestly best advice I can give you is to pick yourself back up, and go back in there with the attitude of showing those examiners who is in control of that exam. I was so mad that I got a 74 on BEC that I called my next testing date the “Final Showdown” (this was the last part I needed). I even downloaded really bad music (stuff you'd hear at basketball games when you were in high school) and listened to it on my way to Prometric – which was about a 2 hour drive. By the time I got there, I was PUMPED!

I know getting a score like that is hard to take, but just make up your mind that you're going to show the examiners what is up! You can conquer this exam, and you will!

I walked out of FAR feeling like I did “Ok” on the MCQs and feeling like I bombed the SIMS. I thought I had a 50/50 chance of passing. I received an 81 and was “Stronger” on both MCQs and SIMS compared to passing candidates. I don't know how they grade these things.

I'm still waiting for my BEC score. I'm hoping I passed but if I failed I would rather fail BEC than have to take FAR again. I don't want to ever see FAR again.

@drovell- AUD requires a lot of analysis and you need to take time to compare answer as most questions like to ask for the BEST answer. Walking out 2 hours early is too quick. I bet you made careless errors. You obviously knew your stuff, but you probably missed something in the questions and got tricked. That's why you felt confident but ended up failing. Retake again, use the full 4 hours to read each question and their choices very carefully and I guarantee that your score will significantly improve.

    best of luck!
