Thought on REG

After feeling quite fine walking out of the exam but receiving my failing score, I thought about it and weren’t shocked anymore…

For the previous two exams I took, I felt terrible but passed… This time I was hoping for a high score but FAILED… how stupid.. I think the content of REG 2011 isn’t harder, but the structure makes scoring harder. It’s really so obvious but I didn’t put much thought into it before. The multiple choice # is reduced from 90 to 69, and makes up 60% instead of 70%, and writing is eliminated. I believe most candidates are like me, putting a lot of time and energy on MC, but the MCs don’t worth as much anymore. So the new structure really requires one to know the material really well. Luck doesn’t weigh in as much anymore…

Oh well… another round of study begins for me. Congrats on those who passed! Don’t give up to those who didn’t!

I wonder if I am the only one who prefers Sims to MCs. I find the Sims to be like real-world scenarios. MCs are alien to me because they are not at all like real life. (I was not an accounting major in college, so I have no idea if college classes use MCs nowadays to help kids practice that format?) In my REG this window, my Sims were just like actual tax returns I have done for clients. Of course they didn't look like the actual tax forms, but that was the testing content. MCs were more like guesswork for me because each scenario was stand-alone and had four tempting options!

Done with FAR, AUD, REG, BEC. Today, March 29, I will remember you forever!!
    Delaware candidate.
Going to convert Peter Olinto to my team. 😀

@TooBigToFail: I guess the heavier weight on simulations require a better grasp of knowledge… A machine can do the MC well after practicing a lot (lol) but not the simulations. I have yet to come across a similar task to my study material on the real exam…
