So I have 3 down and one to go. I took audit in 2010 and scored a 74, took it again this february and received a 66 on the new format. Can anyone who failed in 2010 and then passed in 2011 tell me what they did differently/what they used to study to pass the second time around?

If I don’t pass on this next try I’ll lose regulation and I don’t know that I will be able to keep going after that, I’ve had this hanging over my head for almost two years now. šŸ™

    FAR: 66, 68, 75 PASSED
    REG: 78 PASSED

Thanks šŸ™‚ … I think I am going to give the Becker Flashcards a shot, I switched from Becker to Wiley for the 2nd go around and don't want to buy a whole new book again. Flashcards were $70 on ebay and I've heard they help people.

I think we got screwed. I really feel like the 2011 test is much harder than the 2010 version.

I got a 74 on Nov, 2010, took it again Jan 18, scored 87. I reviewed Becker 2009 (for both tests) one more time and did all MC again. Also I did all Wiley (2009) MC again. For sim, I used Becker and Roger.

I used a combination of Becker and Yaeger. Although Yaeger was really boring for audit, I felt he explained pretty well, whereas Becker was just memorization, which I hate.

I sat for AUD using Becker in July 2010, felt good about it and got a 74. I just took it on February 25 and felt INCREDIBLE about it, again studying with Becker. Just got my score back today – 71. I don't understand anything right now. I've passed BEC and REG on the first try and wasn't nearly as confident when I left REG.

I'm in the same boat as you SomedayCPA. I don't understand what happened with the new format. I was able to literally look up more than 50% of my simulations before I answered them. If I got that much correct on the simulations, which are supposed to count for 40% of the exam, then how did it not help my score?

I've never wanted to challenge or appeal a score, but I want to VERY badly for this one. The only thing that keeps me from trying that is that almost no scores are changed historically. To add to that, I got a 71… not even really close to passing like an appeal would help. I truly feel as though they gave me the wrong score and someone else has received mine. I wish I could give someone from the AICPA a piece of my mind.

I am going to need some serious counseling/therapy now.

Becker sucks a$$ for FAR by the way. I regret spending $3000 on their materials.

last time i took AUD was nov 2010 and only studied 2 1/2 weeks using becker + flashcards, didn't feel prepared but wanted to try before all the changes took place in 2011. i just knew i failed and decided i needed to switch things up so i ordered yaeger. i never stopped studying for it after i took the exam, looked at my becker material until the yaeger material arrived. found out i scored a 65 (good thing i kept studying)

yaeger arrived and i started taking mad notes, (something i never did with becker cuz they said you don't have to cuz the book is outlined in note format). i viewed the lecture and took notes on things Gary said, re read the module after the lecture and added on to my notes, then answered ALL mcq at the end of the module and added more to my notes. i pretty much read the whole book, even all the SAS's in the back

for final review i went through my notes for each module and then answered ALL mcq questions in the wiley test bank for that module and added on to my notes. i saved SIMS for last and went through all of them, becker and wiley test bank, and you got it…added on to my notes!. at the end i had about 60 pages of notes typed up in MS word, took jeff's suggestion and re wrote ALL 60 PAGES by hand (thx jeff). i would read over my notes daily

about a week before my exam i took the 2 becker final exams and the 1 final exam in the back of the wiley book to see where i was at. also during that week i re listened to all the lectures while at work, not paying too close attention but just incase there was something that popped up. i also did 20 question quizzes on cpareviewforfree.com sometimes

another thing i did was typed up the different audit reports, equations, and a step by step actual audit engagement i found on cpareviewforfree.com and would read them while i did my 30 min cardio every morning on the elliptical.

some might think i went overboard (me included) but no stone left unturned, right? i was so sick and embarrassed of failing that i was willing to do whatever i had to do to pass

Just found out I passed AUD. Here are my study tips from Yaeger.

1)Watch the video and do all the MC(TWICE)

    2) Go to cpareviewforfree.com and DO ALL THE MC (TWICE). This is very helpful because their questions are easy but it will help you understand the concept and practice you to pick up KEY WORDS in the question.

    3) Spend your last two weeks or 20 hours to do the WILEY TEST BANK IN THE CD. I would set up the test where you would 30MC and 2TBS at a time. This is a really review and the format is 90% similar to the actual exam.

    4) Lastly, don't be afraid of TBS, they are just a BIG multiple choice question.

    AUD - 83 Feb11
    REG - 75 May11
    BEC - 73 July11 84 Oct11
    FAR - 63 Aug11 76 Feb12 I'M DONE!!!!!

The only thing I really did differently was to to do more Gleim MCQs and to do them in study session mode rather than test session mode. That way I received instant feedback on each question.

In the end, I think I benefited from the change in format because I was stronger in simulations on my failing attempt.

    BEC - 10/18/2010 - 79
    FAR - 10/28/2010 - 82
    AUD - 11/04/2010 - 73; 02/18/2011 - 86 - IT'S OVER!!!!!!
    REG - 11/21/2010 - 83
