The word "fail" bothers me.. - Page 2

    When you fail, you fail to try. I sincerely think that ALL of us on here that have been on the receiving end of NON-passing scores, have not failed. I respectfully asked the AICPA to reword their verbage when mailing notfications of scores from fail to not passed. What do you guys think??

    I don't see how changing the wording alters the reality. Maybe I'm old school (20s) but what ever happen to “sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me”?

    This debate reminds me of when I attended my nephew's soccer game last year and was shocked to find out that score keeping is prohibited. Everyone is a winner !!

    I didn't really want to be this harsh but in my opinion being a CPA is serious business. Years from now your going to most likely be in a position of authority and be required to make some very challenging and difficult decisions which will not only impact you but directly affect other people's lives as well. The point being is if you don't even have thick enough skin to read the word fail on a piece of paper because you think it's “too mean” then you have much bigger things to be worried about…
