The exam is finally over… So what now?

    Hi,

I found out today that I’ve passed my last section and I’m now trying to get the application process started. I’m starting this thread hoping that someone that has been through this phase of the long journey can give me some guidance to complete the last 10th of the marathon…

    1. I took the VA CPA board exam with no intention of getting my license there as I was already registered there during “pre-150 rule days” and I”m looking to be registered in CO. Anyone with similar experience that can provide some advice?

    2. Colorado licensing website keep routing me to NASBA for the licensing application process. Is that the only way of completing the license?

    3. Ethics exam on AICPA is $150 w/o membership and discounted with the membership (w/ membership costing $300). Is the AICPA membership something I’d eventually have to join or can I just pay $150 for the ethics exam and not worry about joining the AICPA?

I’d appreciate any other tips/word of wisdom regarding this part of the process as well~

    Thank you!

I may well be mistaken but I think you'd need to get licensed first in VA, then see if there is a reciprocity agreement with CO.

If you apply for initial licensure in CO, you'd lose the benefit of being grandfathered for the 150 credit hours and likely need to meet that requirement before becoming licensed.
