I found out Thursday morning that i got a 74 on my retake of BEC. I was completely devastated. Now to make matters even worse, I just got the email with the scoring breakdown and the reason I failed was because I was weaker in the written communication. When I first took the exam I was comparable in the WC. So for the retake, I kind of took the WC for granted. I hit MCQ hard and 2 days before the test I reviewed the WC. Lesson learned do not take anything for granted when studying…………………..

Now I will be stuck studying for SIMS for BEC. I hate myself so much right now.

I feel the same, I received 73 yesterday and I was so mad. There were two easy questions that were similar to becker that I got wrong, I could have passed. I received my breakdown with weak in economic (my strongest subject since I am an econ major) and weak in WC. Honestly, I thought WC was really easy. You never know, maybe the sinms will be simple and help us pass this exam. I will be taking BEC again on April, so you are not alone.

Im not sure what my breakdown was and I never will, but I think people over analyze the written communication. My coworkers who all passed on the first try and I agree that literally all you have to do is start out with “the purpose of this memo is to…” and restate the question. Then state 2 or 3 solutions or ideas.
Then have a clear middle that says something like “first…, secondly, finally” and explain your ideas and make sure you have certain key words. These should be obvious if you studied.
Finally, have a clear ending. Something like “thank you for your time. Please let me know if you have any questions. I hope to hear from you soon.”

It's literally what you learn in middle schooL in the USA. I think college tells people to fluff up their writing, but in real life you have to be clear what you want. Don't include any excess.
