Y'all crack me up!
Realistically, I don't think TSBPA is here to serve CPA and Candidates. I imagine Texas law mandates that TSBPA is here to serve the PUBLIC (or set TSBPA up specifically for that reason), by regulating and monitoring CPA's and candidates. I have a feeling there isn't anything we can do to get Texas to be an NASBA state except VOTE. I hope I'm wrong, but the way all of the educational requirements and things are so regulated by the laws in Texas, I would imagine that's the way it works.
LOL. I took my FAR in Alexandria, LA b/c of a stupid mistake on my part–I guess I never hit “submit” and walked around for 10 days thinking I was taking the test in Houston on 11/30. Something made me think that I hadn't seen a confirmation, and sure enough, when I called Prometric, I was not signed up. At that point, I could only get a seat in Houston in like 4 or 5 days, so I went to LA and gave myself an extra week beyond that (it was that or wait until Jan). Sigh. But the 4 hour drive was pleasant, and the little center only had 6 seats. Nice and quiet, very friendly. Was thinking I actually might do that again!
It's not like there aren't about 25 extra steps between getting the AOI approved and finally reserving your seat at Prometric! :o)
