How many days a week do you guys study? I study around 4 hours a day Monday through Friday and 6 to 8 hours a day on the weekend. I am currently studying foe FAR and I am afraid I am starting to burn myself out. My friends and family thin I should take a day for myself nut I cannot justify it because I am consistently getting 50-60% on Becker and Wiley questions.

I would love your advice..now back to my Sunday date with Mr Gearty and bonds 🙂

Yes!!! Absolutely take a day off and do something nice for yourself. Do something that lets your brain relax. Watch a funny movie. Laugh. You will certainly burn yourself out if you don't. Remember, your brain is a powerful muscle and just like other muscles, you brain needs rest and time to recuperate too. I can almost guarantee if you give yourself a good break and do something you enjoy you will study better and grasp the material more because your mind will be clear.

If you don't feel comfortable doing it at least once a week, do it at least once every other week.

The test is important, but don't kill yourself over it.

    Law of diminishing returns 🙂

I took a few hours yesterday to myself. I studied for about 1 1/2 hours in the am then took my kids to swimming lessons (without notes), treated myself to a mani, then came home and studied for another 3 or so hours. I don't track how many hours I study, it would drive me crazy. Then before bed I watch a movie with the kids and hubby. Or I should say I picked up the remaining of the movie they already started. Now here I am going to study for most of today.

Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....
    AUD - 39, 48, 56, 65, 68, 73, 76!!! (Finally passed in Oct 2011!!!) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    REG - 75 (Lost Credit) 72, 68, 73, 75 (Passed again in Aug 2011) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
After 10 long years of studying, I AM DONE!!!! Finally a Licensed CPA in the State of New York!!

Yeah. I'm trying to find a way to take a break and not feel guilty about it this evening.

I've always done “Monday My Day” .. I do whatever I please that doesn't involve Olinto or Gearty… Since you can fit in more hours on the weekends maybe you should try to take a week day off to feel less guilty? Definitely give your brain a rest, ESPECIALLY with FAR

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

My problem when I take a day off is that suddenly it is a week later and I wonder how the heck a day turned into a week!!

I do think taking a day off is helpful if you are able to get right back to studying the next day…

    I am finally DONE!
