So I really like Becker’s simulations, and I’m finding that, surprisingly, I’m not doing too horribly on them. I have some questions for those experiences exam-takers out there:

    1. How often did you re-work the Sims when you studied? It seems to me that the best idea would be not to touch them again until I go through to do my review. I’d like to do all of the lectures/homework/sims/progress tests the first time around and then re-do them all the second time around. This way, I think I’m more likely to get questions right because I grasp the material and not because I remember the questions and answers.

    2. The sims are graded on a partial-credit basis, right? I seem to be getting MOST of the answer right on a lot of the sims, but not all. For example, if there are 10 items with boxes to fill, I will get 8 or 9 of them right on the first try. This would still get me a fair amount of points if that happened on the real exam, wouldn’t it?

I am surprisingly chipper for someone whose basement just flooded last night–what better way to spend a day off from studying than with the shopvac trying to get all of the water out?!

    Thanks everyone!

Still wondering about this…I'm working the F7 sims (when I take breaks from cleaning my basement to try and restore it to its pre-flood condition). There are a lot of sims for this particular area and again, I'm always getting the MAJORITY of the questions it asks correct, but there's always at least one that I get wrong.

I'm sure this is typical, but how does something like that translate into impact on exam score?

Each piece of a sim is worth something. For example, if you had a sim where there were 4 rows of questions, one column of drop-down list categories, and one column of amounts to fill in – there are 8 separate opportunities to earn points. You don't have to get the entire 8 drop down choices and amounts correct to get any credit.

In the TBSs on the exam are entries required in every field, ie when a response would be zero, or if there is no response for a particular row? I noticed in some of the Becker sims there are blank rows remaining after entering the correct responses (F1 task 2 Income Statement, F2 task 1 I/S corrections, F3 Consolidations 1, task 1 wp entry). Some of the fields have a selectable response of “No entry required” or “Not applicable”. Don't want to lose points for leaving blanks.
