I do not think kids for food qualifies as a like-kind exchange. Per section 178.82 subsection (C) of the tax code properties are of like-kind, if they are of the same nature or character, even if they differ in grade or quality. May be it does, but it you would have to trade your kids for meat (food); otherwise I don't think it meets the specifiec criteria outline above. For example kinds for ice cream would not qualify in my opinion. It does indeed have commercial substance, but I think you would have to recognize a gain if there is any boot (cash) involved. Any thoughts? SO SAD!

@CPAterminator…I think you need recognize gain on that one…Kids come with lots of liability, giving away is COD! The difference between COD and NBV is taxable…VERY SAD!

@Cpaending, it is so validating to know that I am not the only one who does that! I mean I admit, I am a crazy person. But now I feel less so. After I took my FAR exam, I kept recalculating my possible scores based on how many questions I got wrong(I kept an internal count)

    I just started Max Payne 3 on PS3 😀

God, I haven't played video games in sooooooo long. It's glorious. Beer pong tournament all day tomorrow. Work on my tan, and attempt to talk to girls.

I just know I failed my FAR exam, so I've been trying to spend the time studying more. The day after I took the test I sat down and wrote down everything I could remember to study. Like, if I got a lot of basic earnings per share, I wrote that down to remember to study it harder, or if I had a question I couldn't answer, I wrote down the subject so I could learn it.

What I'm doing now? Trying to go over that stuff I wrote down and trying to study a little. Just a couple hours every other day. just incase I failed, I wouldn't loose all of it. But I know I failed. I didn't even cover all of government accounting or leases, or a bunch of other stuff. LOL Just took it for the practice I guess.

So. spending my time trying to study. knowing I failed, and feeling frustrated they can't just tell me I failed so I can move on easier.
