It has been a pretty good summer even though waiting 10+ weeks for score release has been in the back of my mind. Being in California, I know some candidates spent the summer taking the ethics exam while waiting for Aug 17th to roll around. I decided to put the FAR score release behind me and decided to bang out the Enrolled Agent exams. Working in tax and previously studying for the REG exam earlier this year made the EA exam extremely easy. It is kind of a joke how much more difficult these CPA exams are compared to the EA tests, you really can't compare the two exams. I decided to sit for the EA so I can actually file tax returns this year. Even if I do pass the CPA exam I am still short the 150 credit hours for licensing. The CPA is such a long grueling process with added stress not only for yourself but your friends and family. I am extremely worried for this score release because I feel like I am borderline pass or fail. It just makes me sick when I read other candidates on here complaining how they think they failed and boom they pass with flying colors. Not once have I had that experience, not sure if it's my ADD or what, but every exam has been a total struggle for me. I have already lost credit for two exams which I have again retaken and passed but each time the test never fails to disappoint. Been through so many valleys with this exam I can't even begin to explain my frustrations, but this long score release seems to have been a breathe of fresh air. Instead of hanging my head down and counting down the days for score release it gave me extra sense of motivation to knock out the EA exams. Almost feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, but I have come to FAR to give up on this credential that has alluded me for years now.

@TJoyride82 how was the business section ,I have cleared part 3 but then got distracted as many people on other forum said it's more difficult than CPA REG.What review of book you refereed ? How many weeks or months you spent ? Just curious.

@wannaFree The EA is a little more in depth compared to REG but the actual questions on the exam are straight forward and not tricky. I put two weeks of study time for Parts 1 and 2 but feel like I could have passed both those exams with my REG material. I used “PassKey EA Review” written by Gramkow, Pinheiro, Wells and Busch. I feel the material they provided was more than enough to prep for the exams. I found a few typos in the material while studying but overall the material was straight forward and helped solidify the material I already studied in the CPA. I think the EA exam format benefits a candidate who has already sat for the CPA because you get everything up front compared to submitting separate testlet's and stressing over time.
