mperez102204ParticipantYeah, this is a bit early. Although, FAR was my first test and I am pretty positive I failed. So, I feel starting this thread early will allow me to stay sane! Well, at least I am hoping.
So, how does everyone feel? What test are you awaiting results for?

SomeSomeCPAParticipant68 on first attempt at REG. Unfortunately I was kind of expecting it since when I passed BEC and AUD my 2nd testlets were brutal and in this test all testlets seemed on the same difficulty. SIMs were honestly not bad. I'm interested to see my score report, Individual and Corp tax is what I'd expect to be weaker.
Retake in 25 days. Any advice from anyone who has retaken an exam in a short time period? Reread book/notes or just reset MCQ and hammer them?

Kewl DewdParticipantI flunked FAR with a 54 – found out today & was pretty bummed. Not looking forward to reviewing this entire module again but i have too. Good luck to everyone!!!

RhunterParticipantPleased with my 84 on REG. Gives me confidence moving onto FAR in Nov. Is it possible to pass using only NINJA? Yes, I just did it. (10 point combo).
Sorry to everyone who didn't make it this time. Don't give up. Think of it this way, it can only get easier after all the studying you've already done (plus you have an awesome set of study materials that you created for yourself). Next time should be a piece of cake.
BTW, I strongly recommend working through SIMS. Sure you may know the concepts well enough, but I didn't encounter any MCQs that told me where to report specific items of income/expense on the various tax schedules/forms.

Pete E. RinoParticipant91 on BEC. Nice relief, especially since I thought I had failed it. I have no idea how I did that well.
78 on Audit. Go figure, I thought I did better on Audit.
2/2 No more Audit. No more BEC, both of which are the two hardest sections for me. Taking FAR on Nov 1, 2 or 3, and Regulation sometime in the first 10 days of December. Hopefully I am all done by year-endSeptember 20, 2016 at 7:10 pm #842052
Kim W.ParticipantI took BEC late August and had to wait almost a week extra for my score. I passed with an 81 which is a respectable score but I thought that I was going to score in the 90’s. I studied REALLY hard for this one. I used Becker and completed all homework, self-tests, and practice exams. I even watched You Tube videos by Mr. Clifford (don’t laugh, he really helped me understand economic concepts and he is very entraining to watch) because I thought that there would be a lot of questions on economics. I listened to the lectures several times by listening to them on my way to and from work every day (I have a 40 minute commute to work). I reviewed the flashcards over and over again. The day of the exam I felt pretty confident on my answers to the MC questions. There was only a handful that I wasn’t completely sure of on the exam. The only explanation I can think of is that I didn’t write enough or didn’t hit the key concepts they were looking for on the writing portion of the exam. Oh well that one is done! Two down (I passed FAR in May) and two to go!!!!

Pete E. RinoParticipantIf you are using Becker, the multiple choice help A LOT. Get comfortable with them and know the concepts. It helped so much. I don't know how you are with the SIMS, but I know Becker says 50-55 minutes for each of the MC testlets, and 60-75 minutes for the SIMS, and make sure you give yourself enough time to do the SIMS. Get comfy with that research question because it could be the difference between a pass and fail. When I went for Audit, I gave myself 45 minutes max for the first 3 testlets because I knew SIMS were going to be harder. If you need a break, take one. And don't burn yourself out. The day before the test, just relax. Don't even stress yourself or burn yourself out. You want to go to the exam refreshed.

kiesterParticipant76 on BEC! I used Ninja and gleim. I thought I failed and was not sure how I was going to continue this long horrible jouney. Now I just have to pass REG before 12/31 so I don't lose my FAR credit. I splurged and purchased Becker and am excited to start the torture of my last exam!!
Congrats to those who passed and those who didn't keep your chin up! Most of us have been there, keep on truckin'!!

CPA50ParticipantGot the score I deserved.
Not the one I wanted, or wished for or prayed about.
The solid, bloody 61 on REG that I truly deserved.
I was trending 50% after 2 weeks of study.
Granted, it was a retake of an expired section, and I was still celebrating passing FAR after 9 attempts, and I had to pee so bad as soon as I hit the button to start the SIMS. No going back, no adult diapers, just don't think about it. Right, how do you concentrate on the SIMS from hell when you think your morning latte is about to explode all over the seat?
Sigh. I will do better in November. Aside from Audit, it is my favorite section. Really.
Also, I need additional credits for licensing, so I'm taking some taxation courses to do some double duty.
Congrats everyone who passed!
Let's go get em to everyone who still needs a pass!AUD 88 (expired), 80 retake

monikerncParticipantCPA50 – still strong and it is still in sight. Good luck in November. For SIMS, all I can say is kill the MCQ so you need less from SIMS to pass. I printed many of the tax forms and used them as I studied to prepare. I reviewed the IRC and UCC to prep but never felt comfortable. If I had needed a retake I would have written the cited section of the Code referenced in each mcq as I studied to more readily know what section applies to a topic and then reviewed those sections to understand their meaning and content. My SIMS were left field on exam and dug into details I was not well prepared for but I passed. I think my mcq score must have been pretty strong to carry my SIMS. You can do this!! Your courses will help.
