AnonymousInactive@Kels417, You have nothing to lose now. All is fair I bet you that you have a better chance of passing now than ever. I don't know your state but you can do part at a time. I would say better now than 10 or 15 years down the line. With international law and other parts it will be harder more than ever.
Giving up is easy, sleep on this take a week/two off. Decide what you want to do. Then be firm with your decision ‘IF & In my time” is not worth regretting. Make the best decision for you. And don't look back.
Good luck, I am sorry this happened to you. Life sucks sometimes, but I hope it treats you better next round. Keep your head up.

GatorbatesParticipantKels, I am so sorry to hear. When does your REG exam expire? You can look at it this way, you are 1/4 of the way there now. A lot farther than many people. Try and knock two out in the next testing window, or maybe even a retake on the 28th. There is still time. I went from sitting for my last section in August, failed with a 74, and lost REG credit for it. So instead of being done, I was back to 50%. Heartbreaking. I know how you feel. It's not fun. But you CAN do this. Your scores are close! If you were getting in the 40s or 50s, I'd say something different. Don't let all that sacrifice go to waste. And as hard as it is, the knowledge you've gained doesn't just disappear. It's still in your brain somewhere. You could be back to 3/4 done in 4 or 5 months. Best of luck with your decision … Take a week or two off. Let it sink in and re-evaluate. If you feel the same way, so be it. But your scores show you are not that far away. And hey, you know as a fact you have it in you to pass AUD and BEC, because you've already done it!
Licensed Florida CPA:
B: 71, 73, 79
A: 83
R: 78 (expired), 77
F: 74, 74, 80It's finally freaking over.

AnonymousInactiveKels,
Gatorbates is right.
I passed the exam in 2001. I then moved from Wyoming to Texas and went into private accounting. I didn't get licensed, because of the Texas BS about being from out of state, plus I was in private, and my scores were all that my employer cared about.
Fast forward to now, and I'm in Oklahoma, and back in public accounting, and Oklahoma won't count my credits, so it was either move back to Wyoming to get licensed, or retake the whole thing. I am now halfway through, hopefully 3/4 after tomorrow.
I regret not spending the time and effort to get licensed.
Take some time, and think about it, you're studies are fresh in your mind right now. I'm not saying in ten years you'll regret not pushing forward, but you might.
Just think about it, before you make any decisions.

AnonymousInactiveKels: I signed in specifically to check on you and G3. My heart breaks for you and I just want to say I am so sorry. *hugs*
I also want to say that if anyone on this board understands…it is probably me (and Kricket). Take a week or two to get back to your life and enjoy your family. Regenerate Refresh and Regroup…but seriously reconsider giving up completely. I have been where you are more times than I want to admit. The CPA exam is a monster adversary but you passed 3 sections and you have a solid foundation on the last. Yes it is time consuming and yes it is a pain in the a##…but you CAN do it!
I will say this…IF your heart truly wants to be a CPA, the drive will come back once the sting of this fail/expiration starts to fade and you will want to try again. If that happens, forget the past and start again. I don't know how many months you have until REG expires but I do know that YOU CAN DO THIS!
No one can make the decision for what is best in your life and if you lay the cpa exam down we will all support you in that decision. But if you chose to contine…when you are ready to try one more time before you lose REG…we will be here cheering you on!
I took this exam 28 times… but that CPA license means something to me because I always knew I could do it and I did.
With the same token, you have shown that you can pass these exams…and I have no doubt that you can pass them again.
Good luck to you on whatever you decide! I will be thinking of you…

AnonymousInactive@Kels I'm so sorry!! I do think you should do what you really want to do. When I got my failing score the other day, my mom asked me “Is it worth it?” I said YES. I want to be an auditor and I want the CPA next to my name. I'm completing this journey and I'm doing it for me. So you really need to do what you want to do. Like Baxter said, we'll all be here for you if you do decide to pick it back up again!
