Score Expirations

I was under the impression that scores expired 18 months from the date you took (and passed) the first exam. For instance, if I took AUD on 7/1/11 and did not pass all the other sections by 1/1/13, then AUD score would expire and I would have to retake it.

However, I was just on NASBA to pay for another section and it shows the expiration date as 18 months from the date the score was released…not the test date. This is good news to me because it basically gives me 2 extra months in which to pass all 4 parts!!! I took AUD in July, received scores in September so my expiration dates are 3/2013, not 1/2013. Of course, I hope to pass them all well before 3/2013, but you never know what may come up in life.

    I’m a happy girl!

    AUD: 07/11/11 - Passed
    BEC: 08/27/11 - Passed
    FAR: 01/17/12 - Passed
    REG: 04/30/12; Re-take 7/16/12 - Passed

    FINISHED!!!!!!!!

I wonder if this is a mistake on the NASBA website. The California Board of Accountancy website gives us 18 months from the exam date, and that's what I've always thought it was supposed to be.

    FAR: 71, 77
    BEC: 70, 82
    AUD: 62, 78
    REG: 71, 68, 85

    CA Licensed 11/2011

I believe each state sets its own policy. A few other people have mentioned that their first pass expires 18 months + the end of the testing window. For those states, if you take a test the first day of the window, you actually get about 20 months instead of the 18 months. It doesnt seem fair and I'm not sure why they are allowed to do it, but it is what it is.
