Hi there,
I am seeking advice from seasoned CPA test takers as I recently received my first score for a CPA exam section (REG) and unfortunately came up short with a 61. Prior to receiving my score, I began studying for FAR (about a week in) which I have been approved to take with my NTS. My original plan before receiving my score was to take FAR in early February, but am having second thoughts on starting a new section.
Of course, I wish to pass my first section as soon as possible and wonder if anyone has advice given the new updates to REG in 2019 and my lack of experience in determining an exam strategy. I have until April 25 to take FAR, and will risk forfeiting my NTS for FAR, if I retake REG instead.
Honestly, I am more motivated to retake REG since studying the new law will aid me during tax season and because I came fairly close to passing the section. However, I wonder if it is worth it to postpone FAR considering it will be my first Tax season as well (not sure if I’ll have time to study during..)?
Thanks for any advice/input!
