Release Q2 Scores before target release date?

A shot in the dark here but does anybody know if there is a chance that they will release the Q2 scores before the target release date? My rationalization is that maybe they’re giving themselves more time to grade these than they need and could release them early, but who knows. Just wanted to get peoples thoughts. 10 weeks is a long time.

Doubtful. They need all of the scores from the testing window ( I took at the AUD at the beginning of the window, its killing me) in order to determine what constitutes a 75.

Remember that a 75 is not a percent correct, but an algorithm of your performance on the various portions of the test. To me this means that they are going through and determining what is a hard question, what is an easy question, etc etc.

Anyone think that if you did really well on the MC but not great on the sims (especially for FAR Q2) that there is a shot at passing? I understand that its 50-50 now but at the same time FAR sims for Q2 were unbelievable…

What does the AICPA has to gain by releasing the scores early? Nothing. Very little chance it will be releasing the scores early than they stated.

@AnotherSeventyFour Maybe. Who knows how exactly the exam is graded? Speaking from personal experience on my first rodeo on FAR before the changes and what I've looked around, if you did good on the MCQ and poorly on the sims it's going to be hard to pass. Not saying it isn't possible, but it was tough before the changes and its tougher now because the weights of it has changed and you can't ride the MCQ score like before. I mean think about it, sims are now 50% of your score. That right, half of your grade comes from 7 sims that they are going to count. I can't see how it's going to be possible to pass with out doing somewhat reasonable on sims or if you do pass it's going to by the skin of your teeth.

God I hope they somehow get released early.

I'm guilty of periodically checking NASBA and VBOA to see if somehow it's there. I even saw that years ago there was a hack (that was supposedly fixed) that you apply for a new NTS a few days before release and if it's your last exam, it used to say “You cannot apply for new NTS, as you have passed all four exams”.

At this point, I think it will be released on time, but I was definitely hoping that around July 15, an email would be sent out to say that it was changed to August 1 or something. Now that we are only 3 weeks away and I would assume a formal email/memo would be required for early scores, I'm thinking August 17 1AM it is.

This wait is totally killing me though, especially for my last exam with my Ethics/Education/Work requirements done. I'm also chomping at the bit to get out of Big4 and I won't start looking for a new job until I get my license #.

Originally, I wanted to get AUD done in Q1 with REG, but I procrastinated starting for REG (after FAR) and then decided I needed studying additional time. I'm trying to remind myself that if I took REG on a different day, I may not have passed the exam, so I should just be happy for passing. But on days like today, I'm like “WHY COULDN'T I HAVE JUST TAKEN BOTH IN Q1?!”
