kobebryant168ParticipantJust curious guys, What is your age range when you have passed all the exams?
I feel like, I’m so behind to write this exam at this stage of my life

evesocalMemberI've been working in public accounting since 1989 or so. Never wanted the lifestyle of working full time and preparing for the exam and (back then) raising two kids so I didn't start taking exams until 2012, at the age of 56!
My kids are in their 30s now so I didn't have that commitment anymore, but I was right about how much it sucked to work full time and study for these tests, not to mention how long it's been since I was in college.
I took one exam in each window beginning January 2012 and by some miracle passed them all the first time. So at age 57 and now a grandma of two, I became a CPA. 🙂
I did it because (1) my firm wanted me to and (2) I wanted to be a good example to my kids, to show them that even at my “advanced” age you can accomplish something difficult They are proud of me, my firm is happy and so am I. I should have done it 30 years ago but better late than never.
Good luck to all of you!

AnonymousInactivecurrently 22, fresh out of college. i've got a full time start with a top-10 public firm in october, a gf, and a whole lot of ambition.
except for work, my life is “on hold” until i receive my certification. i'd rather put in the work now to enjoy the benefits later.
with luck, i'll be certified by the beg. of march 2014. i'll be 23 then.

kudawudashudaMemberAiming to be 24 by the time I pass all the exams.
I underestimated the difficulty in the CPA. Just because you are young and have free time (no work), does not guarantee you will pass all the exams in a 5-6 month time frame as I had hoped initially.
REG = 58 (02-20-13), 75 (05-01-13)
AUD = 67 (05-29-13), 79 (08-29-13)
BEC = 83 (07-31-13)
FAR = 72 (10-29-13), 69 (02-27-14), 73 (04-16-14), 81(08-13-14)Study Materials = Becker 2013 + Wiley Online Test Bank

FearTheBeardParticipantPassed my last exam shortly after turning 23…now I'm licensed at 23…oh, I also play ball for the Houston Rockets…now, by “play ball”, I mean mess around with numbers and useless internal control walkthroughs all day…and by “Houston Rockets”, I mean an accounting firm. Well…this is depressing.

sonygal57MemberI am 29 and expect to be well into 30 by the time I finish this exam. I still have to get my Master's degree, which I think I will go to UOA for if they will have me. I hope from there I will be recruited to a Big 4 and be relocated to the midwest (such as MN). I fear I am too old for the big four but I have been working as a year-round tax professional for the past 4 years. I expect I will continue my year round tax professional postion until I finish my masters. I am also an EA and I have a great reference from my current boss (CPA) and a relative (who works in one of the big 4). I hope to pass all 4 tests prior to beginning my master's degree.

JAltNJCPAMemberI'm 43 with two kids and quite an understanding wife. Been married 19 years and, if she hasn't left me after this past year, I think I'm amazed. Earned my MBA in my mid-20s and never anticipated going to get my CPA until I was told to do so at work to advance my career. I work in corporate finance.
