mtaylo24Participant@Sally, I'm trying to start the NTS process ASAP. Definitely planning to sit around the second week of September. I've already e-mailed my state board for an Audit extension, hopefully they grant it, if not, I only have like 300 more MCQs to get through before I hit a review on that.
AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)

AnonymousInactive@SallyCPA When I studied for my retake, I went straight into my old notes and study sheets that a friend let me borrow. I would review my notes and do MCQ for that chapter, and then every weekend I would try to do progress tests for everything I had studied up to that point. I have been using Becker for my exams, but for this retake I also bought the Ninja notes. It helped to supplement my understanding of concepts that I felt Becker was lacking in. I also wrote out sheets and sheets of journal entries and formulas so that I knew the steps for answering a particular type of question. Whenever I was doing MCQs I would handwrite all the answers and the steps I took to get to the answer so that it reinforced the concepts. I reviewed the Becker SIMs since the exam was placing more weight on them, but I didn't really work through them since they can be time consuming, I just printed the answers and explanations so I knew how to fundamentally answer them.
In college, financial accounting was my hardest class, so I had to put the extra effort into understanding why we book certain journal entries and what those journal entries do to the financial statements. For me, my studying revolved around understanding the why and the how of everything rather than just memorizing the mechanics of it.
Hope that helps. For those who didn't pass, I believe you guys can do it. Because seriously, if I can pass FAR, anyone can 🙂

mtaylo24Participant@SallyCPA, I plan to go through the Gleim audios and summaries and work Gleim MCQs and sims, review JEs and review Ninja troubled questions that I saved from my last attempt. I feel ok about how I prepped before and ok about my knowledge on the subject matter, at this point it pretty much boils down to the actual test I get.

barnoldParticipantCongratulations for all you folks who passed! What a great feeling. I'm waiting on my FAR score still here in CA.
To everyone else I'd say – don't quit! You WILL pass if you don't stop trying. I've taken like 12 tests in total and passed 5 times (2 expired). So I know the feeling! Frankly I'm expecting a 60 right now for FAR.. so we'll see very soon I'm sure.
@SallyCPA – man you were so close! Just plug the holes you know you have and hit MCQs in those specific areas the most. At least that's what's helped me in the past for other sections.
BEC - 69, 77, 83
AUD - 63, 68, 70, 79

WannafreeParticipant@curly and @CPA Dubai congratulations .
@CPA Dubai ,what you did differently than last time ( 68 to 77 ) wonderful.I know you share tips hence asking again.
@SallyCPA , I knew I would fail but don't know why felt so low last night.
I am scheduling for 8 Sep.While I got same 68 which I got last time ,so not even one marks improvement while I studied hard ( as per me ).I have the subscription of Gliem and will try there for mock test as suggested by Anthony.
@SallyCpa good thing you can think of is it's not that bad as we all thought during exam time.I feel that you got 74 and given the black swan phenomenon in Q2 ,there shouldn't be any problem for you to get 75 plus in q3.
My situation is different ,I am pretending FAR is for 3 hours and practicing accordingly.
Ray of hope:Q3 people (mostly ) are able to finish all SIMs in 4 hours and most people are optimistic.
@Turbo,you are the hero ,congratulations again and requesting your sermons for FAR people.August 17, 2017 at 2:12 pm #1603853

WannafreeParticipantCPA Dubai , it worked for FAR too ? I remember you had advised me to do the same for AUD but based on my Q1 FAR experience which was loaded with calculations I left the Ninja MCQ.
How you took care of long emails SIMs and DRS ?
I am not sure if I have congratulated you or missed it so congratulations .August 17, 2017 at 5:28 pm #1604343
