Does anyone know why the release dates for Q1 scores were more frequent and didn’t have much of a delay, whereas the remaining three quarters release the scores have you waiting for as long as 3 months?

They are introducing a new format to the test. They need to statistically validate the test as a whole before releasing the scores. If there are no changes, then the test in 2019 should be released on a more timely basis.

It's a racket 🙁 there were huge delays in 2017 too. I'm not a computer or a programming wizard but in the “real world” when we roll out software updates we don't get weeks to evaluate it because we have to close the books every month. It's all evaluated in a test environment with every possible, foreseeable, scenario. It would be nice if it was more like the “real world” LOL.

Standardized testing requires very detailed and specific validation techniques. It's not the same as any old software update.

@Tim is right. Can you imagine someone or multiple people failing an exam with a 74 because there was a glitch in scoring due to the rollout of the new software? The score delay absolutely sucks, I took FAR yesterday and won't get the score until June 27, but I'd rather they get it right than wrong.

A glitch can’t be all that bad if it goes in your favor? Just kidding.

But really, thanks everyone. I didn’t realize the correlation of the new format to the scheduled score release dates. I just took FAR yesterday. That makes total sense.
