How many people are waiting on their last exam score and to be done before the new exam rolls out? We need to submit a letter to AICPA telling them we would skew the statistics in the new exam pass/fail rate if we had to retake one of the four exams in a totally new format no one knows what will entirely look like and express to them that this will cause a massive headache for the future of the CPA exam, therefore, we deserve to move on with our lives and get our licenses.

@Needsa75 – I didn't think they were too bad. One was very obviously from the April 1 changes because it looked completely different. I thought they all were much easier than SIMS in FAR and REG. How did you find them?

Agreed. Do more words = harder question? Is the use of more sophisticated syntax and verbiage an indication of increased difficulty? I would argue that “harder” mostly correlates to a question with a very very subtle trick in it, while having nothing to do with the length of the question. Im pretty sure the only way to determine if the AICPA considers a question hard or not is the overall success rate for that question in that window. We're all just speculating.

    BEC: 77
    AUD: 67, 85, 87
    FAR: 74, 74, 79
    REG: ___

Compared to REG and FAR, AUD really didn't seem as bad. Same with BEC. I'm talking about the actual exams I took at Prometric (not the actual material)

Again, this scares be because for whatever reason it has the lowest pass rate historically

@needsa75 – I didn't realized that, but it must be because people underestimate AUD because it has the least amount of material. I studied as hard as I did for all of the others so I can only think positive. The alternative is just more than I can handle right now. 🙂

@IcecreamF I would disagree. if you are someone who studied for the exam and practiced a ton of m/c questions, I think you'd have some what of an idea between an easy or difficult m/c question.

    FAR - 1/25/2016 - 78
    BEC - 2/27/2016 - 68
    AUD - TBD
    REG - TBD

Yeah, im an auditor so Audit came comparatively easy to me (as opposed to, oh i dont know… REG!), but I think if you have no experience with it the questions may as well be written in Chinese.

@sweazy – Wow – you have a great AUD score! I'm going through my audit right now at work so I lived it all day and studied it all night. I hope it turns out that it was a great time for me to take AUD.

The med vs hard thing is judged by the AICPA…..if they give you a sample pile you can get a swag at what seems to be the pattern. Wordy convoluted questions probably pose extra challenge to ESL student……..

So I just realized the score delay lasts all year at least according to this: https://www.aicpa.org/BecomeACPA/CPAExam/PsychometricsandScoring/ScoringInformation/Pages/FAQ2011ScoreRelease.aspx

After the score release for the 2nd quarter on Aug 16-18, the next is Sep 22 and finally Dec 22.

Their reasoning is, “Due to the substantive changes introduced to the Examination in April 2017, time is required to conduct the standard setting process, which includes statistically validating candidate performance and setting a passing score. To allow sufficient time for the standard setting process, scores will be released only once following the close of the Q2, Q3 and Q4 testing windows.”

    B - 11/11/16
    A - 4/16/16 87!!
    R - 2/17/17
    F - 7/26/16 - Waiting for 8/23

Waiting on REG. I had a different experience from many – difficult MCQ, easier sims. Not that the sims were particularly easy but navigating the authoritative literature helped a lot. Just a week left and many of us will be set free from this curse. May the CPA exam gods smile upon you!

@leo_bloom my Far experience seemed very similar to yours of what you posted to the topic “March 21st Score Release People.” I flagged a decent amount of questions (If I remember about 20 questions) and the SIMS were aw-gawd awful. I walked out of the exam having no clue what happened but there were two in particular that were above people’s capacity to even begin. I feel the exact same way about getting a unusual 1st medium testlet and it definitely threw me off big time but I fought threw it. I think I ended up getting medium medium hard but who knows, I definitely had a ton of calculations but none were too extreme but a few. I pray to god I passed every say since I took exam as this process has everything but easy and has taken years off my life (it feels)!
