I’m watching one of the REG update videos and noticed that PY got his bottom teeth fixed…so Yaeger review must be treating him well. 😉

Also, anyone watch the REG update with Bonnie and Phil? So PY – you get a thumbs down from me on that one. They just read straight from the handout for the entire video. Waste of 46 minutes in my opinion…but I was glad it came with the CRAM anyways, just so I knew what to be looking for.

    REG tomorrow – take 2.

    YIKES!!

I have the 2009 FAR lectures and the 2011 REG lectures. I did not notice any teeth being crooked and then being fixed. I was too busy trying to learn the material.

@dorky—this made me laugh. I have Becker and noticed that Ghearty and Olinto have definitely aged…lol way more gray hair than before!

    REG-80, 77, 77
    BEC-67, 68, 71, 67, 71, 74, 71, 74, 72, 77
FAR- 72, 65,67, 53, 75 (truth be known the 53 was with 4 hours of studying)
    AUD-58, 62, 72, 74, 74, 75
took 5 years but I'm DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@dorky LoL ive noticed Tim Gearty also looks like he has a bruise on his forehead in a few lectures

My CPA journey began in 2008 while working at big4. I passed FAR & AUD right away with scores of 81 and 82, and I took REG for 1st time in late 2008 and got a 68 and from score report I was VERY weak on Indiv Taxation and Partnerships but comparable/stronger on the legal stuff in the later Becker chapters. I believe this was because I just didn't spend enough time doing a cumulative review. For various reasons I had to give up on doing the CPA exam for awhile…

In 2010 I no longer worked crazy hours (was done at big4), started to get more serious, started over on REG from the beginning and was much more thorough. I used 2009 Becker materials and scored an 82 on the 2010 exam. There wasn't really a secret, I just understood the material much better and went into the exam having practiced a heck of a lot more.

I only took 1 federal tax course my entire life during my Masters in Accounting in college so it's never been my strong area. I think it's important to understand the early REG chapters on individual/partnership taxation VERY WELL like someone looking to get a top score. And I figured most candidates probably have a much better background of 1040 and AGI stuff than I do/did so i hit that area hard. I knew (and, given that it's been a whole year, probably still know) next to nothing about taxes, AGI and what the heck a credit is, whether something's above the line or below the line etc

i heard Q12011 the pass rate for REG was only 41%! It'll be interesting to see how much better(or worse) it was for Q2 '11 🙂

I have 2010 as well as 2011 Becker – Gearty looks about the same but Olinto definitely looks heavier and has a grey streak in his hair – he even jokes about it!
