DON'T!!! Not even for a second! I bombed AUD… Like 50s. Once I started in audit it came together and I scored in the 80s. Only test I scored that high. So many people in my office had the same story. You're already way ahead of your peers. I only had one passed when I started in public and I felt down about it. I know several people out here that are seniors and still haven't passed. Don't even for one minute downplay what you have accomplished!

Ugh. Shit. I am so sorry. I don't even know what else to say. You can take a week off or so and then start prep all over again I guess- and it will be easier this time for sure.

what review materials are you using now?

Thank you guys. I'm convinced that buying a new review program was a complete waste of money. I thought so at the time but was told it was the best way to go. Sometimes I just need to trust my inner gut. I had already had the Wiley MCQs (plus full Becker course), I didn't need the Wiley lectures–which was 20 hours wasted since my ADD is so bad I can't just watch a video. I cried myself to sleep last night, and today I will take the day off. But I've been having a blast these past 4 weeks traveling and having a grand ol time. So time off is not needed. I need to get right back up again. I'm going to approach this exactly how I did for REG for my 20 point increase. Which is, watch 2 Becker lectures a day, while watching the lectures-pause frequently and take the best notes of my life. This will take 2.5 days and at the end of those 2.5 days I'll have completely reviewed all of AUD while having an awesome stack of notes. Then MCQs/Flashcards/Reading for the next 4 1/2 weeks, rewriting notes towards the end. I should have just done this last time, but lesson learned.

Also, a lot of you know that I start full time with EY in September. I've just been temping now… and get this.. my first 72 was studying full time, and my second 72 was while working full time! >:O I can't win!!! Wondering if I should dish out 80 bucks to get the Gleim questions, since Becker's & Wiley's have become very familiar…. thoughts?

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

I only used Becker for audit. Watched lectures for each subsection of the chapter, take notes, do mcqs, move on to the next section. The way I took notes was to read the book and type up my notes (except for chapter 4). The notes were extremely time consuming and detailed and I basically ended up with a condensed version of the Becker book. However, it did work. I didn't re-write the notes just re-read them. At the end I re-did all the mcqs.

    R - 74;88
    A - 84
    B - 74;89
    F - no study = 67; May 15 = 87 & done

DAMN IT!!! I am shock reading this forum and can not beleive this happened. I love Laura's comment about crying, cry until there is nothing left but anger, then channel that anger into determination. You are on the last section and I 100% know you can do this. BIG cyber hug going out to you. And don't beat your self up. I worked in Audit for over two years and barely passed. It is super tricky!!!! So do not feel stupid. You are anything but that. You are going to pass and you are getting ready to start an awesome career path. You have so much going for you. Be proud of that. Please take care and know you can do this.

    B: 81 (3X) May 2012

@Peanut. Sorry for not passing this time…I would say AUD is the most vague exam among all. Even you know the concepts, questiosn from SIM would make you think things could go different ways… For other exams, you know it either you made it right or wrong…for AUD, you just never know. :-(…

I am sorry Peanut, I can totally relate to what you are feeling right now. It took me five times to finally pass audit. I've used Becker, Yaeger and Wiley, wiley online test bank, ninja notes and this last time I actually wrote the entire set of ninja notes over just before the exam and also added the ninja audio. You will get this. It is definitely a beast but you can't let it beat you down.

@bnrhilton, you can totally relate to my pain!! I don't understand how I can pass REG and not AUD! REG was brutal! I always score stronger on MCQs so feel like I know my $hit.. but.. ughh I don't know. What do you think pushed you over the hurdle your final AUD attempt??

    @Peanut:

I'm pretty new to this forum, but clicked on this post b/c I was curious who was named “peanut” 🙂 I'm sorry about your score. Looks like you did everything right. In all seriousness, I only feel like I passed audit because of my audit experience. I actually printed the audit programs at work (not sure if you are familiar with those) and read those to help me understand everything. The week before the exam, I print out all the outlines for all the Chapters (in Becker). I write down EVERYTHING I know about that bullet point. After re-doing the MCQs several times, you begin to memorize them. The outlines help me b/c understand what I've actually retained and understood. It's tedious, painstaking, and hella boring… I don't know if that helps, but it definitely helped me.

Every time I walk out of an exam, I always cry b/c I feel like I failed. Hang in there! You are almost there 🙂
