    Hello All,

Hope you are having a wonderful morning!

I just found out from the board of accountancy website that I have passed all four sections of my exam (after 3 years of no giving up)!!

I’m so happy! and my husband who’s been supporting me through is so jacked to have our life back!

    But now… what..?

I reside in Michigan and plan on practicing in Michigan, but when I registered for my exam I took exams under California Board of Accountancy. 3 years back then I didn’t know I would end up in Michigan.. Can anyone please give me an advice as to what to do from now on? Transfer my scores to Michigan and register for the license? I tried going to the website here: https://nasbastore.org/index.php?main_page=product_free_shipping_info&cPath=248&products_id=1097
    but I don’t see California listed…

    PLEASE HELP!!!

I don't know any details on this as I am not from Michigan nor California. However, if I was in your situation, I would call up the Michigan BOA and tell them your situation. They can probably give you a straight forward answer and clear explanation as to how to go about transferring over. It beats searching for information online. Then, I would call the California BOA and tell them what the Michigan board said and they should be able to help set you up for a quick and efficient transfer.

Congrats on passing, by the way. It feels amazing, doesn't it? 🎉😊

This would be a very useful post or website, “You Passed! Here's what to do for your license for each state”. There is zero information on my local state board or state society regarding what next steps to take. The application doesn't explain whether to wait for the congratulations package or certificate to come in the mail. It simply says, you must have passed all four exams and the ethics exam. The application even limits the amount of characters you can use to describe your experience to 110 characters, which is near impossible. I probably should have called, but I sent in my application yesterday in overnight mail.

There is a lot to do depending on your state but best would be to grab your credit card because its f*ing gonna cost you. My CPA app cost me $250 for application, $17 for two sets of fingerprints, $54.50 for Ethics exam (Don't do AICPA one that cost like $175, that's a bullshit amount to pay for a f*ing 20 questions ethics exam crash course you have to take. Go on this website and see if your state board approves of it, mine did: https://www.mypescpe.com/ethics-cpe). So good job on passing, now you better be able to fork out some dough while be held hostage haha

@Cruzer – You ain't lying at all! Dropped $170 yesterday on the official ethics yesterday, I wish I knew about what you mentioned…Still have to drop $75 on the app fee, and $60 on ANOTHER Ethics course (this one is through the state). This is an expensive process HAHA

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)
    FAR - (8/16)

I am also confused, because I need to wait to meet the experience requirement, then transfer scores between states as well. As you mentioned, the websites are all unhelpful and confusing. I ended up emailing the boards of the two states to ask. You should email/call michigan and cali!

First of all congratulations to all of you of becoming a CPA.

As to membership fees. AICPA membership fees are so much affordable compared to others.

At AICPA, membership fee is at: https://www.aicpa.org/Membership/Join/Pages/default.aspx

    As to CPA-Canada:
    https://www.cpaontario.ca/cpa-members/obligations/fees-and-important-deadlines
    https://www.cpaatlantic.ca/en/eligibility-fees-and-schedules/cpa-atlantic-program-fees/cpa-pep-fees

Not including the required professional courses to get into the CPA program, before they become CPA-Canada members:
    https://www.sauder.ubc.ca/Programs/Diploma_in_Accounting/Admissions_and_Fees/Fees_and_Expenses
    https://ubcdapclub.com/certified-public-accountant-cpa/

Now, if you ever want to get another license (in Canada) here's the link:
    https://www.cpaontario.ca/become-a-cpa/why-cpa/internationally-trained-accountants/ca-reciprocity-examination–care-

Opportunities is unlimited once you're a ‘CPA'.

@Earla Do you work for the AICPA? Lol jk. $265 is affordable, TO MY EMPLOYER. I am not joining AICPA unless they pay for it. First year IMO should be free like it is to join my State Society of CPAs. AICPA really wants all the money they can get.

I would look into reciprocity versus applying your scores to Michigan. Might be an easier path, or cheaper.

First go at the CPA! Only using Becker
    Reg / Nov 2015 - 87
    Far / Apr 2016 - 79
    Bec / May 2016 - 80
    Aud / Aug 2016
