Hi everyone,

I passed all papers of CPA recently but dont have a job yet…have visa issues working in US (possibility of extension but not sure….). well, i’ve been looking for opportunities in other countries besides US…..so thought Canada is closest and the next best option….do you know how well US CPA’s are received in Canada? Also thinking about applying for a PR to Canada….i heard it’s better to be a CPA license holder and then apply for PR to be able to be eligible for the mutual recognition agreement….if i take a PR before i’m a CPA license holder….i’ll have to go thru complete process for CA or CGA in Canada….any insights? This info is so difficult to find! I’d appreciate if you could even direct me to a valid source for such info.

Also, between CGA and CA, which one is a better option?

Have you looked into US tax practices in Canada? I had a former colleague who transferred from a US big four to one in Canada, doing US tax. Her US CPA is sufficient for that job.
