@pshustler: Ha, ha…not a dream at all! This kind of work takes it toll on you: One divorce, excessive partying/drinking, hardly time for any meaningful relationship, and a daughter that is mostly being raised by her Mom and Grandma due to my extended travel to Asia. ….hardly a lifestyle I would recommend to anyone. I figured I would get out of this when I hit 30. Now I am in my mid-thirties and addicted to the work I am doing; don't know what else I would do. Join a Hedge Fund and go deeper down the well?
To be honest, my frustated rants aside, the reason I do want the CPA is to have more career flexibility and provide a more stable life for my daughter. Maybe, leave Caliornia, settle in the Midwest and live like a normal human being without the craziness and unhealthy decadence of life in California. He, he, you know the grass is always greener on the other side, so just set your goals on what you want and stick to it.
