NOLA.CPA I'm somewhat new too (lurker mostly). I am in IL and I tried to apply for a retest (I've already applied for all 4 and sat for 2) and it won't let me. It could be because I've already applied for all 4 parts, and because the scores haven't been released yet…or it means I passed! While I'd like to beleive I passed, I'm thinking the loophole won't work because the scores haven't yet been released…
@Cathie, thanks! I am not able to re-register either.. but as you said, its probably bc scores haven't been released.. I am just SO TIRED OF WAITING!! lol
kja2011 For IL, I have to go to the ILBOE to apply for a re-test. There's just a link once I log into their site, but it won't let me click on it…that's the only way I can see to apply for a re-test- maybe one fo the other IL candidates can help me out if I'm wrong. This is the only way I know how to apply for a re-test (haven't had to do it)…maybe I'm wrong?
When I try to reapply my box is just greyed out (the score I am waiting on, that is).. It wont let me click on it to re-apply… I have heard some people are getting a message of some sort.. I'm not getting a message..
Sorry Cathi I was talking about the Ohio loophole. I'm in Michigan and when I try to re-register via the Ohio NASBA that's what it says. Funny I haven't even tried to check my actual Michiganscore for days I've just been on here and seeing what the Ohio loophole does!:)
I think we should all boycott going concern. She probably just trashed us to get more hits on her article. Since Wisconsin doesn't release scores until all scores are received, I did not receive my score until January 5th last window. Candidates were already re-taking their exams and I hadn't even gotten my score. The whole scoring process has ALWAYS been frustrating and it still is, especially if you are coming close to the end of your 18 month window, which I pray will never happen to me. You can never predict what will happen over 18 months. Ideally everyone would “plan” to get done with the exam in that time frame, but anything can prevent a person from studying…a new baby causing sleepless nights, a new work schedule that has you traveling or working 60 + hours a week, a death in the family. It's ridiculous that we are even wasting time reading an article that trashes us and is written by a person that is not even an accountant, much less a CPA.
Paper Exam May 2002; AUD 62, LPR, 63, FAR 49, ARE 70
Paper Exam Nov 2003; AUD 72, LPR, 72, FAR 67, ARE 71
CBT 2010; AUD 83 FAR 76 BEC 78 REG 73,(2/28/11 NTS # 446) 75 and DONE!
The Ohio loophole has worked for me every time. I look forward to score release as much as anyone else, even though Wisconsin releases scores weeks later, because I have always checked the loophole. It works, but you have to wait until NASBA releases scores to the AICPA. You can verify that your score has been received by checking the oasis but you need your jurisdiction id.
All or some sections of your NTS have been attended but scores have not been received
Once it changes to say your scores have been received, the loophole should work.

just got back on to check out this post – Jeff, want to say thanks, thanks, thanks for saying what you did above, about your prediction on the score. that little piece of clarification into your thinking made me feel so much better about your predictions and where they come from, and I am not the first or last to say a big thank you for being honest with us and for all the work you put into the site/forum/all of it to make the CPA exam a (slightly, if possible) less painful thing for so many of us to go through.
The OH loophole doesn't work until the day After the scores are released by the AICPA and the OASIS status changes to “scores have been received” with a recent status date.
Where do you find your candidate number for OASIS?
Ohio Aud-92 (studied too much)
BEC-75 (barely studied after audit)
FAR-failed (tried to study more than BEC, not as much as audit, it didn't work)
Reg-nts#433 waiting
Your candidate number/jurisdiction number is on your previous score reports if you have any.
