ParticipantHere's an excerpt from an email I received from Gleim yesterday that discusses the scoring process:
“The scoring is an extremely complicated process, to the point where the exam is basically curved.”
I'm hoping that “curved” grading will help!
AUD - 95, BEC - 85
REG - 85, Rawrrrrrr FAR - 88
Used Becker for all sections.

Inactive@drod57 – nasba site will not let you register. You have to wait for your score.

Participantpassing_score_please, that NASBA facebook message definitely sounds like they are not planning on releasing scores next week as predicted. NASBA, you soulless fiends!
AUD - Passed 11/20/09
FAR - Passed 08/20/10
BEC - Passed 10/25/10
REG - Passed 2/18/11 MarylandMarch 12, 2011 at 11:07 pm #271148SecondTime
ParticipantReleasing the January/February scores at the end of March is an unfair and unprofessional act on the part of the AICPA.
Receiving a score so close to a new window is unfair in that it impacts our ability to register for and schedule a failed test in the following window.
The ability to retest immediately in the following window will certainly be crucial for those candidates who find themselves in the uncomfortable position of waiting for a score on their final section while being in danger of loosing credit for a section they have passed. For some, the ability to retest in the very next window could mean all the difference in the world.
The pressure is not strictly on the above-described candidate because any candidate who has credit for a section is also operating under the eighteen-month cut off rule and they too must be extremely cautious of testing opportunities. In short, potentially being shut out of an immediate retest is detrimental to every candidate.
Further more, for the AICPA to be putting the candidate in this situation is unprofessional to the point of being ludicrous. If the AICPA were not fully prepared to implement and grade this new test with minimal disruption to the candidate, it should not have been done. We, the candidates have enough pressure without acting as involuntary guinea pigs in this process. The exam should have been Beta tested, Beta graded and the implementation should have been seamless from the eyes of the candidate. Honestly, are we not paying enough in fees for that? Is the AICPA incapable of doing it?
I for one am contacting my state board and demanding an extension to the eighteen month rule for those of us who are actively testing during the implementation phase of the new exam.
I apologize if I am ranting; I am simply tired of being at the mercy of the AICPA and NASBA.

ParticipantNASBA is your typical monopoly. They take all of your money, treat you like dirt, and there's nothing you can do about it. Reading the NASBA posts on FB, I got the impression that the writer enjoys teasing us.

ParticipantMy job requires that I deal with NASBA on a regular basis. I can tell you that NASBA is a very poorly run organization. Keep your expectations low when dealing with it.

InactiveI can't even concentrate on studying for AUD now because I don't know if I've passed FAR or not. The 18 months should definitely be extended.

Participant@secondtime – I agree 100%. In my opinion, The whole CPA exam process is flawed. The system is designed to take advantage of (mainly) young professionals by charging OUTRAGEOUS fees. In addition they also force everyone to purchase WAY overpriced review material. The exams are virtually written by the major publishers of the review material (so if you want to pass you have to buy them). Oh yeah, and you have to pass them all within 18 months or you must pay us more money….and oh yeah, you dont get your score for 3 months now. what a bunch of s#it! Can't wait to be done.
AUD – PASSED
BEC – PASSED
REG – PASSED
FAR – …WAITING

Inactive@ SecondTime…………… Spot On!
I am in that exact situation right now. I took my last part – FAR – on January 14. My 18 month expiration period from my first exam ended January 17th. I am waiting for my last grade. If I passed…. all is good. If I didn't.. I will lose my first passed exam – REG – and have to retake FAR from January. It is senseless to study right now since I may be done, but having to wait for the grade is prolonging my studies – if they are needed again – until the very last minute before the next testing window. I am very frustrated at this point.
I have been at this exam for quite some time. I took it 14 years ago a few times with no luck. They implemented the 150 hour requirement some time after that, therefore I no longer qualified to take the exam. Had to go back to college for 1 full time semester to obtain additional hours to meet the 150 – while working full time with 2 children. I have been taking this exam since Feb 2009…. I have paid for 11 tests….. study materials……. studied countless hours (and I've been working as an auditor/tax preparer at a CPA firm for over 15 years). Yes, I am a very poor test taker! Not a dummy :). All while working full time, being a full time wife and mom to two very involved children. My children are anxiously awaiting this grade as much as I am. I'm sure I will be divorced if I don't pass and have to begin studying again.
I apoligize for venting………… as Mar 17th approaches, I get more anxious, nervous, scared, hopeful….
My destiny is in the hands of the AICPA gods……….. HAVE PITY ON ME!!!!!!!!!

InactiveOriginally Jeff's guesstimate was for today, but from what it looks like I think it's going to be Thursday based off of what I've been reading.
I took my last part on 1/4 so I've been waiting waaayyy to long. The suspense is really unbearable at this point.

ParticipantChicpamom, how did you manage to get an 86 on FAR? That is my last score I am waiting for.
Based on your experience, did your testlets get harder on the MC and how did you manage to do on the sims from what you remember?
Thanks =)

Inactiveadcpa-
I have no clue to be honest. It was the one that I was the most scared for and studied the hardest for. I was lucky on content– there were 2 sections that I knew if I got on the test, I would fail. Luckily, after much praying, I didn't get those sections.
I took FAR in 2010 and did not notice the testlets getting any harder. In fact, the 2nd testlet was much easier and I was worried I failed at that point. I think I nailed the 1st SIM and the 2nd SIM I can't remember what the content was. It's been a long time since I took it.
Hopefully you pass. I'm waiting on my BEC score (I failed it the first time by a measly 2 points) 🙁
Good luck to everyone this week. It's been a painful process for us all.
