Jeff, should we disregard the message on NASBA's page saying that grades will be released on the 31st:

National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA)”It does mean end of March. Wasn't intending to be vague. It's general knowledge that end of window means the 3rd month in a quarter. And tends to literally release in 3-4 week of that month. Time of release depends on several factors. After 3Q, the process for score release will modify again (read details in link provided above). Thanks for clarifying.Monday at 1:42pm”

They made the above comment. I think The ninjas will come thru for the majority of us…during the 3rd week 17th +…I think they mean all scores like the stragglers which are borderline or whatever will be out by the 31st

NASBA says it will be by the end of the month – not necessarily the 31st. I have a lunch bet with their twitter person as to when scores will come out 🙂

Hopefully its not the end of the month and the NINJAS are correct, that way if you fail you have ample time to review and take the part over again in the beginning of April and have enough time to study and take another part by the end of the testing window.

Having the scores released right before the start of another testing window is ridiculous.

    BEC - 10/15/10 - Pass
    AUD - 11/30/10 - Pass
    REG - 2/28/11 - Pass
    FAR - 5/31/11 - Pass

The AICPA will never change the passing score. They won't want to be challenged by anyone in the past who received a numerical score that was a failing score when received and falls in the passing range now. If they do want to tinker with the pass rates, they will probably change the scoring process in the background and then scale it to conform to the passing score of 75.

Maybe they will realize how foolish it was to double the weight of the sims and adjust the scoring process accordingly. If they are going to have the sims worth so much, they need to at least make them understandable and relevant. This is a test of entry-level accounting knowledge, not a Mensa exam trying to figure out some cryptic pattern.

@ OC – I LOVE your post and could not have said it better!

    BEC (05/31/10) 82
    AUD (08/31/10) 76
    REG (11/29/10) 90
    FAR (02/28/11) 82

The AICPA is trying to fool us once again by saying their keeping the score at 75. It's 100% obvious they have to change the formula to arrive at a 75 or any other grade. In other words, a 75 on 2011 cant be really compared to a 2010 75. Having no written communications will make the hardest exams (FAR and REG) even harder, considering we will not have our 10 free points on those tests. That by itself, will lower the passing rate and probably lower the avg passing score also. The only logic I can imagine is the AICPA figured BEC had the lowest passing average and so included the written communications on that test as a way to increase the scores for that section. Overall, I really miss the written communication (probably needed it for REG) and I feel the 2010 format was better in that sense.

I'm really hoping that California has their act together a little bit better this time. It was brutal waiting an extra week while everyone else had their scores. For the people who live in states where this delay is normal, I don't know how you do it… As it is, I'll probably go through at least a handle of Wild Turkey between now and score release day.

    BEC - 83 (8/31/2010)
    FAR - 85 (11/30/2010)
    AUD - 82 (2/27/2011)
    REG - 87 (5/31/2011)

Although I did not take REG before, I sense that the multiple choices are not any different from those MC in prior years exams. With the simulation is a completely different story. I found the simulation to be extensive and very difficult. In fact, the simulation I used to practice from Becker were useless. All I can say is that the REG simulation were all calculations . Horrible.

    FAR 78

    AUD 81

    BEC 81

    REG 2/28–retake for sure
