I double checked my info, as you know I am losing my mind by this point waiting for my score, and it is all right. Does anyone know what this means? Did they lose my info.
P.S. I had a co-worker try to re-register and they got the typical all of you sections are currently in process.
pshustler, lol I totally understand. Atlanta has several major companies here. GE, Georgia Pacific, Coke, Suntrust, AT&T etc. Atlanta also has several smaller companies that are good to work for. I would say that an assistant controller in this area would make anywhere from 70K to 100K depending on the size of the company and the specific requirements of the job. As far as areas to live I can suggest several areas where the housing is VERY affordable. Much more affordable than Orlando. The ellenwood area has nice inexpensive homes. Campcreek area is an up and coming area, so is the Vining, Sandy Springs and Smyrna areas. I really like Atlanta. Its a very good mix of city and suburb living. The pay is better that FL, while the cost of living is lower. But GA does have a state income tax. I think you guys could easily move here if the right opportunity presented itself
HazeEast- My sister lives in Smyrna and used to live in Marietta. Both areas were really lovely and relatively affordable with great shopping and everything you need right nearby. Traffic was really not bad in those areas either. The freeway system is of course a bit “exciting” but I lived in Houston and thought Atlanta was really not that bad.
Thanks Haze – even with the state income tax, if I increase my salary 70-80% I will still come out on top. Actually, working for a better company will probably give me better benefits, which will make it even more enticing. I have an MBA and an MS, and hope to have a CPA within 6 months. If we make the move, it will probably be around then.
I've been working on this s.o.b. for 8 yrs; finally decided to actually buckle down and study this past year when I changed jobs.
I am very impatiently waiting on my last part.
I am also waiting to hear from my state if I have the 150 hrs (I had credits from 3 colleges). I may have to pick up 2 credits somewhere. Anyone know of any colleges (online) that offer genealogy classes?
Spectrum, I agree. People make too much of the traffic here. If you avoid 75/85 in the afternoon and evenings you're fine.
pshustler. yeah I agree you'd definitely come out on top here. Wasn't it you that had a boss that took REG and almost left the exam before finishing, cried all the way home and ended up with a 93?
