Haze – how do you like the ATL area? Ive been contemplating a move there once I wrap up my CPA. I'm a Controller in Southwest FL, and some of the jobs I see on the advertised for an Assistant Controller in ATL pay about twice as much as I am making here.

Im a big fan of the Dunwoody and Marietta areas personally

pshustler, I think it really depends on your personality. Like do you have a family or are you single? Atlanta is heavily influenced by black culture so that maybe a factor for you as well. Give me a little background and Ill tell you if I think you'd like it compared to FL. I am also from FL and very familar with Central and S. FL

I started the theory of the section IDs. Although I think its more of a coincidence, mine is 436. I took my exam on 2/28 and I am anxious, nervious, and a little scared. I can't imagine those who took it on Jan 4th!

Can we also put in our signatures the study tool we used for the exam? It would be interesting to note, and may be helpful. I personally am using Becker because my future employer is picking up the tab and I generally like it, but REG is killing me and I feel like I could pick up a second study tool.

Haze – my wife and I just had a baby girl 9 weeks ago. She is going to stay at home for a while and not go back to work, so Im looking to make more money to make up the difference. I just cant make it in this area. There are no big companies other than Chicos. If you dont own your own company or arent an attorney or doctor, its impossible to make money in this area.

Ive been to ATL several times. I coach high school basketball and our team used to go to the St. Piux Christmas tourney every year. Ive also been to weddings and visited friends who went to Emory for school. Ive really enjoyed myself except for our last visit. My wifes old roommate moved there and we went to go visit her. I had hoped the trip would sell my wife on the area, but it backfired. Her friend lived right by Atlantic Station (I think thats what its called) and didnt show us a good time at all. She was pregnant at the time and was hoping to see a family friendly atmosphere and we didnt venture off into any suburbs or anything of that sort. She was just scared off by the traffic and big city

I took my exam on January 9th and it's been painful. I never had to wait more than a month before, much less 3.

I have another idea! In addition to our scores, testing dates, candidacy states, NTS#s and study tools in our signatures, we can also add our pets' names, the # of years we've been trying to become CPAs (school included), our favorite food and our preferred salary range! You know, for reference.

I'll start.

Ditto, Candy, Snake, Fish1, Fish2, Fish3, Fish4, Fish5, Suckerfish and Betta. (You can see we're not super creative. Especially since we call Ditto “Corgi” about 85% of the time.) 6 years (5 school, 1 in the workforce), SUSHI, and SEVEN GAZILLION! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
