herbert7890ParticipantIts Been One Long Journey… your candidate ID number should be included in any previous score report (if this isn't your first section) and also it should have been sent to you by the NASBA coordinator. There is an email (forgot which one is it) that you can ask for you candidate id number and they would reply in a few hours.
FAR 88 - BEC 86 - AUD 90 - REG 85

AnonymousInactive@astrong, I think that for a couple of reasons. For one, in 2010 for REG, FAR & AUD the MCQs were worth about 85% and the sims & written communications were worth 15% so if you did well on the MCQs and got even 1 of the 2 WC but didn't touch the sim tabs, you still had a very good chance of passing. You could have even done excellent on the MCQs and not touched the WC or sims and still have a chance at passing, but now MCQ is worth about 55% and sims are worth 45%. I guess the new weights may or may not be a disadvantage depending on the person. Although I hate WC with a passion, I much rather the MCQ be worth 85% in 2011…I'd even take 70%.
Another reason is for those who took AUD in 2011 when IFRS began being tested. Thankfully I had no IFRS questions (yes, very odd) this time around, but some people had many IFRS questions and I know that many felt that the review material (no matter who you used) was very thorough on that topic. That's because the review material companies aren't sure what is enough and what aspects of IFRS are more likely to be tested etc., in my opinion. Also, the AICPA has to figure out the difficulty of the IFRS questions based on how many people got it right/wrong.
Obviously this is just my opinion.

AnonymousInactiveNASBA's tweet hopefully applies to the way THEY are handling the CPA exam and candidates

Erica HParticipantHere is a lesson in marketing for everyone who cares. Notice how the AICPA has maintained a completely NON-inflammatory stance on all the score release stuff and for the most part the comments on their facebook have been pretty reasonable?
For example, they removed the last inflammatory paragraph from the joint AICPA/NASBA release that told candidates they should have “planned accordingly.”
Perfect example of the results of this is the responses to their last update where people were saying “Thank you” etc. rather than biting the AICPA's head off.
NASBA on the other hand has jumped at every opportunity to make it plain to CPA candidates that they think we are all a pain in their side and nothing more, and they are STILL getting razzed on their FB despite the fact that the score release has started and theoretically people should be calming down.
Whoever is in charge of public relations at NASBA needs to take some serious training courses, as there have been SO many opportunities for them to take control of this situation and make it much less upsetting for everyone involved. Yet it seems they can't resist making stupid jibes and digs at candidates and making things worse.
Check out AICPA's FB page….. I noticed over the last several days they have carefully “buried” the bulk of the CPA exam complaints under a barrage of unrelated announcements, articles, etc. This was a carefully orchestrated management of a bad situation. They did a really good job without even needing to delete anyone's comments. TOTAL opposite of NASBA's complete lack of success in this area, wouldn't you say?
AUD - 92
FAR - 73, 82
REG - 72, 82
BEC - 84 DONE!!!!!! 🙂March 23, 2011 at 4:23 pm #273213
tmdz28ParticipantFound out this morning i failed FAR. Got a 72. After the shock settled down, I felt my eyes got a little watery. I am so disappointed in myself. And, I feel embarrassed to even say that I am an accountant but I cant even pass FAR, which contains 80% of what I do on daily basis. I dont even feel like going home today, I dont think I can look at my wife and my newborn son.
Ohhh, the agony…

AnonymousInactivehahaha, I guarantee you whoever posts NASBA tweets/updates is an immature intern who has obviously never been a cpa candidate and likes getting a good laugh at our expense. They should do what I do and get their jollies elsewhere…for instance, I keep a mixture of super sour and fire hot gumballs at my desk. I love when people bite into them and start gasping for air, eyes start watering and make some pretty goofy faces. I do it all for a laugh. Yesterday our FedEx guy bit into a fire gumball and said his mouth was on fire, eyes watering and his throat felt like it was closing to the point that he couldn't speak and had to spit the gum out ahahahaha

funnyorCPAParticipantIts alright. I know plenty of auditors who have failed AUD have years of experience. Dont take the score as an attack on your ability. The test is ridiculous, and no matter how hard you study, its always going to be difficult. Just pick yourself up again and try try again. One of my coworkers failed FAR with a 72, and just retook it and passed! Just be positive :)! This test is more of a test of willpower than intelligence/understanding. Dont let it win! another71 is here to support you!
