Does anyone know if the Loophole still works?

Just windering if I will know once AICPA releases the scores

Someone should call and say…. “it says I failed with a 72 but it will not let me re-register online? Why is that? Can you help me?”

Then see if they try to investigate and say….. scores shouldn't be out until……..

I totally see your point.

People who achieved a passing score are supposed to deservingly pass, without their scores being “curved” or tweaked downward to satisfy a certain fail rate at each tesing window!!

If AICPA/NASBA decided to go by the pass/fail rate instead, what is the use of having a passing score???

(Definitely shady there and unfair indeed.)

Keep either a set passing score or a pass rate, NOT both!

I'm wondering about the loophole too. I went here: https://www.nasba.org/nasbaweb/OACPA.nsf/UL?OpenForm and it says that all sections have been scored and I should receive a statement in the mail within 10 business days….when I go re-register the only section it will allow me to register for is the one I failed at the end of last year. I took FAR in January and that section is grey…does this mean something or am I just getting my hopes up? Has anyone else tried to re-register??

@AAA I really hope someone does that. I would do it if I were in the US. Actually if we don't hear anything in the next couple days and I am still this anxious I'm gunna call them and do it!!!. Just to see what they say. jajaja

When I was taking my test, I felt like crap. The questions were tough and a lot of the stuff from the exam wasn't in my study material. Needless to say I walked out feeling like I failed. Yet with every passing day, I keep thinking more and more that maybe..just maybe I passed. Each day I don't get my failing grade I am giving myself a little bit of extra hope. Then, when it finally does get released, I have the mindset that I actually passed, and there's no doubt in my mind. And then BOOM..another 37. If this happens to me for a third time in this window, I might just have to actually study harder. Not looking forward to that at all.

WisconsinAshley, I think you're just getting your hopes up. You have to goto my application on the NASBA site and see if it says your scores are in. If they're in you can then goto the register page and see if the test you took is still grayed out.

Loophole wont work right now, not until the OASIS status says “scores have been received” with a status date of this week or the next.

@WisconsinAshley- Is Wisconsin one of the NASBA instant release states or one of the 24-48 hour wait NASBA states? I've heard that the loophole/OASIS thing may not work anymore for the instant release states.

I'm in MN, which is (I *THINK*) still a 24-48 hour wait one.

The key is to check your OASIS and registration status *before* the score release time, because that way you know if something changes or if it stays the same. That's half of what tells you “something” from those.

My guess is that you are on the new scoring system and all that information is outdated. If not, it would mean NASBA has your scores, which would be SWEET!

@Spectrum – Wisconsin is the last state to find out scores. For whatever reason, we are the only state that holds all of the scores until every section has been released.

I figured I was getting my hopes up because I'm pretty sure I failed.

just called nasba…the automated score info prompt says scores have been released electronically for some states…wth?!! which states? nasba states? I'm in ga which is a nasba states…no scores here, omg I think I'm developing an ulcer with all the anxiety and misery….please god lemme pass!!
