Looks like I'll be trying to read the COSO websites and whatever else I can find for corporate governance. The Wiley 2011 has very little in its new book. I must have had close to 20 questions on this area which I scored “weaker” in than others.

I FAILED with a 73.

Performed stronger in three areas and comparable in one…oh,and stronger in the Essays. Yet, no pass…wth?

I was just reading the vague disclaimer on the score sheet's reverse side. It states : “Your examination performance could differ from one day to the next, depending upon a variety of factors.”

Get out of here…we have to wait MONTHS between sitting for the same test – there is no “day to day”. Its the SCORING that varies from day to day. Either you've put in the time and scoured the materials or you haven't. I have BS's in Information Systems, Business Administration and a third in Accounting. Yet, somehow…this test states I'm a failure.

Quick question (again):

I just received my first failing score so I haven't received the grade report, section breakdown thing in the past. will this be mailed or emailed to me? I found out i failed a week ago so should I have received this already? What is the timing in Illinois if different than other states.

@carolina_blues—it's time to make BEC beg for mercy!! We got it this next time!! And I totally agree with the day to day comment….if you gave me my score in one day then I would know that i could score higher the next day…

@carolina_blues / @keeptrying, Last year I scored high sixties on all topics, although I felt strong on all topics except Eco & Fin mgt. Getting a 74 sucks, but it happens to a lot of people. For my second try, I studied from scratch and re-focused on Eco, Fin mgt, Corp Gov. As usual, I struggled with the WCs but I did the best I could with them. You can definitely pass on your next try. Best of luck to both of you!

@mrfps422, I think it depends on the state. In NY, the reports are usually mailed/received a week after the scores are released, but it varies sometimes (maybe 2 weeks). I'm not sure about IL, but if you don't receive it by the mid next week, call to see if there is a delay.

So today a co-worker ask me:

Co-worker: “So…did you pass the FAR section?”

Me: “No, I'm planning to start studying again and take it sometime during the summer.”

Co-worker: “Why didn't you pass? Is that the financial section? That sounds super easy is just finance stuff.”

Me: “……….”

I didn't say a word, I just gave him a look while wondering why I'm hearing this from a guy who is just in the compliance department without any experience in accounting and worst of all he doen't even have any kind of licensing whatsoever. Why do people who talk the most, are the least qualified to talk?

@glitterjess: I know how you feel. A lot of my friends don't have jobs that require them to have a college education & certifications, so when they heard that I was studying for months for each test they kept thinking I was using it as an excuse to not do something with them.

A friend of mine, who has only worked for companies that require only a drug test for hiring, did 2 sample questions from one of my books and got them right, and then picked on me for spending so much time studying. Now lets say, hypothetically, he wasn't just lucky and he actually knew the answer. I asked him, “If it is so easy why not take the test for yourself and make a whole lot more money than you are now.”
