Participant@allyson–that's why I can relate to your blog soooooooo well. There are things you have written that were at one time or another I had thought the same thing or done the same thing.
@Megan–it really does make me feel better…You have no idea; I feel like I'm all alone with my million times of taking the exam (okay not a million but it feels like it!!!) I just know that if i give up…I'll be so pissed off at myself in 10 years or even a year from now.
I found this quote the other day after getting my AUD 74…
When the world says, “Give up,”
Hope whispers, “Try it one more time.”

Participant@christian0919 – You can check the loophole now, as it should be reliable once OASIS has updated. Try to register for BEC and if it's greyed out or gives you an error message, you passed. That means every “old Nasba” candidate should be able to check the loophole now.

Participant@Megan – Hopefully what I posted will give people motivation to say, if that person can do it, I can too. Like Peter Olinto said, if some of the people that pass can do it, I know I can (or something to that effect). With a 74 you're so close that hopefully it's just a little more focus on the weak spots and you can get it. A lot of times, it's just the style of the test and what you're good at that makes it hard or easy for you (the reason I think I will have a harder time with audit even though that's what I do now).
I do feel your pain on baby #2 though. I know that's going to make it hard to find time to study after he/she is born. I have 3 kids–almost 5, 2 1/2 and 7 months. Trying to find time is not easy, and especially not at 8:00 at night when you're just getting started. That, plus some work on weekends and March Madness (have to have priorities) has really stopped my studying on audit. And since I am going to the championship game on Monday, that pretty much takes out any studying until next Wednesday. I did the first chapter lecture and homework and almost all of the second lecture back around the first week of March and haven't touched anything since because once I get distracted, it's very difficult for me to get back into rhythm. Actually, a passing score is what I really needed to get me motivated to get back at it and tell myself I can do this.

ParticipantPassMe – That does give me some encouragement. I just feel like I studied as hard as I possibly could for this one. But, now I have some of that information committed to memory, so maybe I can focus more on the finance/cost stuff since that's what got me this time. Thanks though, that did help!

InactiveI wish they are showing us the proper breakdown of our scores in CA. They used the 2010 score report for all 4 sections.

InactiveI wish the report still had your score for each section. Why did they take that off?

Inactive@herbert7890 – Its still greyed out, with the OASIS status date 03/31/2011… Can I rely on that??? Did I passed?
Again (the loophole), I selected re-apply, enter my ID number and birth date, and then the window to select the exam comes next, where both FAR and BEC are greyed out, thats the way right??

ParticipantMy recent letter to NASBA posted to them via their contact form online:
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to request an explanation for NASBA's failure to release scores to candidates as promised. NASBA has stated on numerous occasions that states under 24-48 hour release delay (MN, ME, MO, NE and PR) will receive scores within 2 business days of receiving them from the AICPA. Additionally they have stated that all scores would be released to candidates by March 31, 2011 for first quarter 2011.
During this score release session NASBA has already delayed releasing Regulation scores to candidates beyond the stated 48 hour deadline and is now very close to doing the same with the BEC scores.
Additionally, a NASBA representative on Facebook stated to candidates that the problem had been “fixed” however numerous individuals from the states mentioned above have affirmed that the problem has NOT been fixed and scores are still not available online to candidates.
Meanwhile, candidates are unable to plan for future exams or re-register if necessary, as they don't know if they have passed or not. Candidates in numerous jurisdictions have already indicated they have found scheduling via Prometric for the second window is getting limited due to lack of testing availability, and candidates from the states mentioned above are facing inordinate difficulty due to NASBA's failure to follow its own stated release policies.
I would like an explanation and apology from NASBA for this horrendous customer service, and I feel the same apology is owed to all the candidates from the jurisdictions stated above. However prior to that, I would respectfully request that NASBA take every effort necessary to release the BEC scores by 4pm today (the 48 hour deadline) as promised to candidates.
Please note that the widely held perception at this point is that NASBA representatives blatantly lie to candidates to mollify them and that there is no accountability in this process despite the large sums of money candidates are forced to pay to your organization.
I am not sure why any CPA firm would want to have NASBA's seal of approval when NASBA itself seems to hold future CPAs in such low regard.
Sincerely,
Erica Henkel.

ParticipantErin, I kind of wish it did too, but I'm thinking they did it to avoid additional controversy. My friend passed a section last year without getting a 75 on any of the individual parts, but got like a 76-78 on the whole section. I guess it's theoretically possible if the ones who did better on one individual part did worse on the remainder of the individual parts and if you scored almost average on all parts, on a whole you could be at a 75 or better. So maybe they are just doing it to keep people from discrediting the process (as if that's not done enough already).

ParticipantSo…. No sooner had I hit “send” on my post above when my office phone rang and it was NASBA on the phone! The person who was in charge of checking on the problem had apparently been trying to check using my NTS number for my REG score (which of course was already released) so they said, “Problem solved” and didn't look into it further.
After I pointed out they were looking up the wrong NTS, they said, “Oh, well we'll try to push out another update to the site and figure out why this isn't posting.”
I'm glad they are taking the time to check on it, finally. I wonder if they are responding to any of the other candidates' requests, or just mine because I've made such a huge stink?
