AnonymousInactiveLess than five hours! I am going to try to wake up for work at the normal time. I need to try to be productive tomorrow. If I wake up at four….that will be hard. Argh! The suspense is a killer!

PrincesskimberParticipantThanks Toke2007.
I am in too deep to quit! I will conquer the CPA Exam!
Debating if I should take retake BEC or move on to the next section. Bammers2 made a valid point (thanks again). Decision.Decision. Arrgh! Like I don't have enough to deal with.
Does a new NTS come with a new expiration date. How does it that work? Silly rabbit, I signed up for all four test. My NTS expires 10/5/2011. Just trying to schedule the test accordingly. Any advise is greatly appreciated….help! help!
Good luck to all those who are still waiting for their scores…

AnonymousInactiveAnyone else awake up in heeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrr?
@Charlie, me too!!! MUAHAHA
*sigh* I'm bored…maybe I should try to stay up for TX scores?? I'm keeping my fingers, toes, and legs crossed for all passing scores for ya'll anxiously awaiting your results! REMEMBER: BEC is super tough for all of us because it focuses on areas other than accounting and AICPA seems to pull random questions outta nowhere to be included on the exam…or at least when it comes to IT stuff…soooo if you receive that dreadful 74, 73, 72, 71 etc. don't beat yourself up because this section is seriously about luck (or at least in my case). I'm sure the AICPA will tweak or throw out some of those impossible questions for the next window so that the majority of candidates don't feel like driving their car into a brick wall upon leaving the testing center. Also, keep in mind that compared to previous windows, there weren't as many exam takers this window so there are less candidates to help work the curve in your favor. You may have dang well earned a 75, but due to AICPA's 40-45% pass rule, your 75 may have turned into an automatic 70. In conclusion, do NOT give up!
SCORE!! <<<<<Charlie, get it? get it?? (for those of you haven't seen the movie “Up”, rent it, watch it, love it and take note when Dug the dog says SQUIRREL!!!)
Okie dokie, bedtime!

AnonymousInactive@Princess, have you already started studying for another section? If so, how FAR (get it? I can never resist those) are you into it? I've seen so many people rush into an exam out of fear of a section or their NTS expiring and I'd hate for you to be in that same boat…think about the anxiety we already deal with in studying for these dang things, I can't imagine worrying about being ready no matter what by this or that date or else lose $300+. I also think it helps give you a new perspective on the failed exam material that will hopefully benefit you the second time around. Another thing, BEC is a beast…in fact, I'm pretty sure the B in BEC stands for Beast. If I were you, I would hold out on retaking that until later this year and hopefully by then the different review companies will have released updates for BEC to cover the new material in a more adequate manner. I'd sit back (and by sit back I mean study/take other sections) and let others attempt BEC, then read their posts about their exam experience to gain some insight and then adjust your plan of attack on BEC accordingly. Also, you are not silly for signing up for all 4, I did that because it's cheaper since you don't have to pay the app fee again and because I knew it would force me to stick to my plan of getting the exam done within 2 testing windows (although I ended up doing it in 3).
If you apply for a new NTS for BEC, it will have its own expiration date (6 months from date it's issued). There's a much quicker turnaround on an NTS to retake an exam than when you applied for your first NTS…the NTS for my retake took maybe 5 biz days and the wait for my initial NTS took 2 solid months (grrr)….so don't think you have to reapply for BEC right now due to the wait because there's not much of a wait.

I can't believe that! You have hit the unluckiest lottery when it comes to the CPA.
As hard as it is, stay positive and let's keep going. I'll be here to support you.

IslandCPAParticipant@ keeptrying and megan NOOOOOOOO! What is the deal with BEC this time??? It seems like everyone got between a 70 and 75.
@bammers my NTS was good for 9 months, so I think it depends on the state you are in. I paid for all mine at one time and that's why I ended up in the crazy predicament I was in this window and had to take 2 tests on one day. Eek!
A- 74, 80!
B- 83
F- 85
R- 86!!March 31, 2011 at 10:26 am #280984
IslandCPAParticipantOh and just to weigh in on the score reports… I am in CA so I get one automatically and mine was jacked up, too. Basically the format is the same as last year and they just randomly filled in/left blank inappropriate squares. Not sure what that was all about…

LauraParticipantmy report is updated to the new information. Thanks for the support guys…I gotta do this and I know it. As weird as this sounds…this 74 didn't hurt as bad as the Audit one….I expected to fail this one big time but a 74 makes me feel that I actually knew more than I thought I did and I'll get it next time.
This quarter is going to be a beast but WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
REG-80, 77, 77
BEC-67, 68, 71, 67, 71, 74, 71, 74, 72, 77
FAR- 72, 65,67, 53, 75 (truth be known the 53 was with 4 hours of studying)

AnonymousInactiveMegan,
NOOOOOO! That sucks. What is going on?? What have they done with the scoring/curve/new data????
Like Island said, there are so many in the 70-75 range and hardly anyone that scored above 83.
Megan, as hard as it will be, take a little time to mourn and then completely focus on FAR. Get that one done next week.
I don't know about you all, but BEC seems like a million years ago; I forgot so much while waiting, waiting, waiting.
