    I used Becker for BEC too. I thought the questions on the test were a lot easier than the Becker questions. It seemed like Becker did a good job on preparing me. I was worried sick going in but felt like the questions on the exam weren't that bad. They were hard….but not as hard as some of the Becker questions they threw at me. I think the most important thing is that you get a deep understanding of the material and not just memorizing the formulas etc. Each person has their own way of learning.

    I have been thinking about getting the wiley test bank if this go around wasn't successful. Honestly, I think it is all in the plan though and finding the right book for you.

    I think half of the battle is sometimes we switch materials rather than just mastering the material.

    it is pretty strange that every person I have seen that posted on their BEC difficulty overwhelming agreeed that the first teslet was cake, the second was harder, and third was easily the hardest????

    BEC - 2/26/2011 86 NTS - 444 LA

    @kristen1479

    I personally think that, for the most part, the key for passing any of the exams is the repetition of the MCQ and reviewing the material over and over (specially FAR). In terms of review courses, for me, Roger CPA Review was just outstanding. Best of luck.

    I think my BEC exam was hard throughout. I hope it got harder! It took me the whole entire time to finish the exam. I rushed through the last couple of questions. I was trying to be extra careful with reading the questions and doubling checking my math. I think I was a little too cautious. I didn't realized how close I was cutting it! I had penty of time left over after taking AUD.

    Ok I got my failing score yesterday about 5 pm, at 9 pm I was hitting the books, I was not happy but dont have another choice other than try even harder.

    My question for you guys,

    I am using Becker, and I am planning to use it again for lectures, questions, but I also would like to practice more questions from another review, which one you suggest?

    thanks

    I actually don't remember the difficulty of the testlets in BEC. I noticed in REG for sure, but not BEC. But the first time I took BEC in Oct, I left the exam feeling like it could really go either way. I knew I didn't bomb it, but I also knew I didn't ace it. My feeling seemed to be right on since I scored a 73. Unfortunately, I felt the same way this time. Especially since the Corporate Governance questions were INSANE. And I even read a bunch of supplemental SOX stuff.

    BEC- 73, 73, 80
    REG- 74, 83
    FAR- 50(didn't study), 76 (<--How the heck did that happen?)
    AUD- 71, 71, 79!!!!!
    Finished!!

    @wannabetxacctnt

    You make a really good point. The full body scan is definitely coming, the prometric center I went to used a wand metal detector which apparently was a trial in several centers. Has anyone else been submitted to the metal detector?

    @okc_9698

    I really thought the Gleim questions were useful and purely using them they helped me pass FAR and AUD with only one repeat on AUD. Also they were only $55 a section. It is purely about an 1700-1800 question bank set up in the same format as the exam. I imagine it is similar to becker's software questions though.

    plspray4me – Not strange! The test is now adaptive, so that usually means you did well! My first and second testlet were both about the same difficulty, and the third was definitely harder. So my score could go either way!

    BEC 52, 61, 74, 77
    AUD 80
    REG 75
    FAR 50, 60, 70, 74, 83...DONE!!

    Nothing about my BEC exam was cake!!

    I walked out of the testing center, got into my car, and asked myself “why do you put yourself through this?”

    Here is my BEC experience….all the testlets were hard for me. When I started the written portion of the exam guess what happened…A FIRE ALARM!!! So you guessed it we all sat there stunned…no one was getting up until someone told us we had to leave. So when the prometric staff told us we had to leave…we all walk out of the building, grumbling, I'm thinking of how much time is being wasted and that there better be a real fire somewhere. Come to find out it was just a fire drill….we all told the staff at prometric we didn't care that the alarms were going off we were going back in; of course they tried to say that the fire truck had to show up before they let us back in. We didn't because finally they said “if you can stand the alarm then you are more than welcome to go back in”…I put the headphones on and went to typing….a total of 15 mins was lost because of the fire drill. I do think i did really well on the written part but….if I fail I'm blaming the fire drill. Just sayin'!!!

    REG-80, 77, 77
    BEC-67, 68, 71, 67, 71, 74, 71, 74, 72, 77
    FAR- 72, 65,67, 53, 75 (truth be known the 53 was with 4 hours of studying)
    AUD-58, 62, 72, 74, 74, 75
    took 5 years but I'm DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    @keeptrying. If you fail, I'd appeal it!

    My entire BEC exam was hard. My first testlet had so many calculations, it took over an hour.

    I just remember the very first question threw me off guard. It was something I once knew….but couldn't recall. I did NOT remember studying it in my Becker material. After playing around with it…I think I finally got it right. I had a mini panic attack!

    @plspray4me- I hope so. I will also say that one thing I was really disturbed by was there some of the things that were taken out of the BEC study materials and put into REG, DID show up on my BEC exam. And I was pissed! I was familiar and knew where they came from because I had studied them the first time I took BEC. But I did not remember the details because I hadn't restudied REG yet. So I question whether or not the review materials got all of the changes correct.

    BEC- 73, 73, 80
    REG- 74, 83
    FAR- 50(didn't study), 76 (<--How the heck did that happen?)
    AUD- 71, 71, 79!!!!!
    Finished!!
