Just lost a section of the test because of this stupid 18 month window that really isn't 18 months because of the blackout dates. I am even more concerned now because if you take an exam early in the testing window, you may not get u scores back for at least 2 months. With the price that we pay for this exam, the scores should be out to the candidates much faster. I failedFAR which changed the most and we got our exams back faster than anyone else. It doesn't make sense. I emailed my state board and they basically said “deal with it” and “nothing is going to change”. This ignorant response is making me question if I even want to be part of this organization. The are holding us hostage and putting taking away our money and passing scores. I just wish we could do something about it.
@It is Gone…I agree that scheduling exams will become even more important than previously (if that's possible). Especially for first-time-sections, if you do wind up passing, you probably want to schedule as close to the end of the testing window as possible. This is supposed to get better and I really hope it does.
Found out my AUD score this weekend. Passed and done with this thing. Jeff, thanks for this forum. It's a great tool for getting info and venting. Good luck to everyone else waiting on scores and/or continuing your exam journey. If anyone is having trouble with the exam, especially REG, I HIGHLY recommend the Yaeger products. I was having trouble with REG and scored a 71 and then a 72. I purchased Yaeger and scored an 87 on my 3rd attempt. The videos were a huge boost for me – Phil does a really solid job at focusing on topics that have a high chance at being tested and doesn't waste time on other things. He's really good at “dumbing down” the REG section and it's much easier to focus in on the righit things using this product vs a self guided text only course. If you are having trouble with REG or don't know what tools to use to prepare, I'd give Yaeger a shot.
Appealing doesn't work either. You are just appealing to the people who score the test anyways. Just like the NFL in a round about way. Just stinks when you are so close to passing the whole thing and one section is ripped away from you. Thank God the section I lost was REG and should pass it again without a problem. Just the money that will be spent on updated review material and the test is what really makes me mad. If you lose a section, they should let you retake it ONCE FOR FREE!! That is the least they could do.
