jc01ParticipantThanks Spectrum! Congrats on the 92!
I think the simulations hurt me. They seem to take a topic I know and then test it in a way I have not seen before.
Well all I can do is try again. What annoys me is that after I retake it, I won't get my result until the end of June.
FAR - 79
REG - 75
AUD - 66, 96
BEC - 79March 26, 2011 at 6:43 pm #278844
AnonymousInactive@KCMO, maybe also use Gleim software ($50) for REG in addition to Wiley/Yaeger. Oh and another thing I did for REG is I went over all the MCQs in the Wiley software in practice mode for each module and when I would get a question that was tricky or I got the answer wrong, I would copy and paste the answer into a word document. Sometimes these answers are redundant so after I was done, I would go through that word document and eliminate any redundancy and what I was left with was almost a summary of the module.

happy75ParticipantCongratulations Bob, CurseAUD, Bammers2 and everybody who passed!
So glad to see all your hard work paid off.
@CurseAUD, I was feeling nervous for you and your future baby. So happy for you now.
Kricket and others who didn't make it this time, I feel your pain but don't give up.
I'm waiting for my AUD score and (supposedly) studying FAR now.
I can see that you tried AUD before FAR like me.
If I fail Aud, I'm planning to sit for it again soon before I forget the details (and postpone FAR exam),
but ONLY after I go over FAR material first.
I think it's important to have a solid foundation in FAR in order to do better in AUD.
I'm using Gleim program and Wiley book for my study.
I think Gleim is the best value around (and I won't blame them if I fail b/c I barely did half of their questions before I set for AUD).
@TooBigToFail, I'm dying to see Bammer & cpaguru get together, too.
They were cracking me up last night.
It was so funny when cpaguru left for a smoke, how everybody waited so quietly. lol
@Haze and everybody still waiting for their scores (including me), good luck to us all!
I forgot how slow the system was (also forgot that Maine was a slow state) and wasted my precious Friday night. π

AnonymousInactive@hate, I doubt it…we probably won't know that until June if we are lucky.
@jc01, that's the crappiest part (besides having to pay more money) of having to retake a section, we won't have freaking results until late June at the earliest. If I fail BEC, I would love to take it late April so I could have a score in mid-May, but nope we have to wait over a month longer…not cool, not cool!

KCMO_PAParticipantBammers – Thanks for the info! I haven't rec'd my REG score but the oasis is updated and I can register to take REG and BEC (now would be expired)….. I think that I need a better study plan. The most painful part is that I actually studied for REG the first time, not so much this past time around (felt better after the exam than the first time I took it).
I studied the weekend before for AUD, off and on for BEC and three weeks for FAR. I felt very comfortable with REG as I actually watched the lectures, did the questions, etc and still didn't pass……
So the more I study, the worse I do!!
BEC - 75 (now expired....), 8/10
AUD - 86
FAR - 64, 74!, 82
REG - 67, 62, 5/10March 26, 2011 at 6:52 pm #278848
TooBigToFailParticipant@jc01 I'm so sorry you didn't clear it this time. I cleared AUD by memorizing all of the reports and alternative versions and being able to write them out by hand. At the time I thought it would be overkill but it turned out to make the difference for me.
I was reminded of a Simpsons quote from the episode when the Simpsons moved to Cypress Creek and Bart had to be switched into a remedial class. Bart's teacher asked him if he knew multiplication tables and cursive writing. Bart answered, “I know OF them.” It showed me the difference between very familiar with something versus actually knowing it hands down. If I randomly woke up in the middle of the night from a nightmare I would force myself to turn on the light and write out a report, just to prove to myself that I actually knew it cold.
P.S. I love you Peter Olinto.
Done with FAR, AUD, REG, BEC. Today, March 29, I will remember you forever!!
Delaware candidate.
Going to convert Peter Olinto to my team. πMarch 26, 2011 at 6:55 pm #278849
WI CPA Dreamer28ParticipantDoes anyone know how accurate advisory scores usually are? It says I got an AUD score of 91? I'm a WI candidate and they don't release our scores until everyone gets their scores on all 4 of the sections. However, I was able to check my score through the Michigan, Ohio, & New Jersey sites and they said I got an adivsory score of 91? Does anyone know how accurate that is? If I did get a 91 I am finally finished and passed all 4 sections.
For candidates in other states waiting for their scores I'd recommend you go to the Ohio, MI, or New Jersey sites to see if you can get your scores through their sites.

KCMO_PAParticipantHerbert – I totally agree…. Did I pass REG and now I'm done, or do I have to retake REG and now BEC since it would have expired?? If so, which one should I take first?? It's just question after question and delayed score releases do not provide any clarity….
BEC - 75 (now expired....), 8/10
AUD - 86
FAR - 64, 74!, 82

MI-CPAParticipant@rutherford congrats. 443 wait was worth it, I also passed.
AUD (11) & FAR (10) = 89
BEC (10) & REG (11) = 78

AnonymousInactive@happy, thanks! I'm partying my butt off in my mind but in reality I'm in my jammies, on here and coughing wa wa waaaaaaaa hahaha.
@toobig, I just saw your post about cpaguru and I. The fact that he's cool with the idea that I may or may not be a 50-yr-old woman w/6 kids (no offense to 50 yr old ladies w/6 kids on here), is a strike…but his first strike came after he posted his metallica email address suggesting he's their #1 fan π So @cpaguru, you have 1 strike left….use it wisely haha
@wheres, I agree w/happy that knowing the FAR material will definitely benefit you on AUD. If you have already been studying FAR for awhile, I would suggest you take that next maybe at the end of April and then retake AUD at the end of May. It may allow you to see AUD through a new set of eyes and enable you to clearly see what you did not do or understand the first time around. I was sooo weak in FAR that there is NO way I could have taken AUD before that and passed and there were so many times on both AUD exams where I told myself ‘thank God I took FAR first'. Obvi, if you are super comfortable w/journal entries and the basics of FAR, you will do fine on AUD w/o first taking FAR, but I wasn't ‘super comfortable' w/FAR.
