So I began studying for the CPA exam fresh out of college in May of 2016. Now, it is June of 2018 & well, the scores are up. I got an 84 on FAR (my second attempt) & I am officially all done with the CPA Exam!!!!!!! What a journey it has been. I got a 74 on my first ever CPA exam & it was one of the hardest days of my life. I then went on to fail another 3, making it my first 4 which I failed. After this I began working full time in Public accounting & gave the exam a few months off during busy season. I buckled down again in April of 2017 & thats when I finally began passing these damn things. I passed both AUD & BEC, then went on to fail REG (again) & FAR for the first time. This time i studied through busy season & passed REG (still not sure how) in February while working 60 hours a week. I started studying again for FAR in April of 2018 in hopes that it was my last one. Sure enough, I looked at the website today, just for fun as I figured it would be out later tonight, & there it was. I had to get away from my desk to comprehend it.
Anyway, I just wanted to quickly share my story as i've had some very very tough days with this exam. I have been through it all, while I watched my friends, co-workers, & even my own family pass the exams. I've hoped to one day post something like this to encourage everyone still taking the exam who may not have gotten the results they wanted yet to keep pushing, because I promise you will get there. I failed both EG & FAR in December in the same period & it felt like I was never going to make it. Now, that day seems like forever ago.
I wish everyone the best of luck, you will get there I promise.
