@Erin – When I let my Texas application for BEC expire without getting my NTS, it took about a week from the expiration date for me to be able to reapply. And no I didn't have to pay the exam fee first, just had to pay for the $15 application fee again. Don't you love that our state application expires in 90 days.

Sorry for the many posts, the page wasn't refreshing.

I used Becker to study. I'm a visual person. FAR is hard for me though, for some strange reason, especially those complicated JEs, like the business combinations and eliminating JEs.

Nobody really knows. I think/hope they will release both tonight. But I'm an optimist. 🙂

@ Ineedadrink – thanks! yes for me it was bonds, consolidations and budiness combinations for me too, especially those eliminating JE's. I don't know why but JE's are scary for me because of that. I know that sounds strange (not the easy JEs, just the complicated ones).

@Krista, try checking your score through Michigan. I'm also in WI, and last window I was able to see my score through MI before I was through WI. Maybe that will work for you too.

I received my FAR score this morning #442(PASSED!!) that I took 4/21, but no BEC (#449) score. This makes me wonder how they are releasing them this quarter. I haven't checked since lunch so hopefully it will be posted when I get home. (I am too chicken to check it at work) 🙂

Don't get too discouraged.

I have just FAR left to go and found out today that the evil FAR, my fifth attempt, was a failure. I get to hurry up and take it for the sixth time before one of my other exams expire on 7/31.

I was high school valedictorian and had a college CPA of 4.0. For some reason, the FAR exam is my nemesis. The first two tries I used Becker but did not believe it did enough actual “teaching” of the material so I switched to Yaeger and my scores have been in the low 70s with that. I just need something to push me up to that 75! Hang in there.

Luckyme:

Purchase Becker materials AND the flashcards. $3,400. Watch each video. Do the questions that belong to each video immediately after watching. Mark the questions you either guess on or get wrong. Immediately re-do all of the marked questions until you are left with no marked questions. Move on to next video. Memorize flashcards by section, make new flashcards for material in MC questions you get wrong. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Finish all chapters and flashcard memorization 1 1/2 weeks before your exam. For the next 10 or so days, start over from square 1 with multiple choice questions. Mark each one you guess on or get wrong. Immediately re-do, etc etc. When finished look at sims in the Becker software and maybe some ancillary stuff. Drink lots of coffee or redbull or both. If you smoke and are thinking of quitting wait till after you finish the exam.

and LOL at THIS_SUCKS… I love the part about not quitting smoking until after the exam. I quit at the beginning of my studies.. maybe that's why I didn't pass my first two tries!! lol

@luckyme – If your Becker is expiring soon or anything, I suggest CPAexcel if you are a visual learner. It's a hell of a lot cheaper than Becker and it is really good for those of us who learn best by reading.
