@CPAchic3 I was sitting alone in my car refreshing on my phone when the results finally appeared. I wasn't as excited as I was emotional. I actually shed a few tears because after almost 3 years of trying to pass any section, I finally cleared the first hurdle (and I give a lot of credit to finally settling on doing the Becker Review after years of going through different prep courses none of which worked for me). Before that, this experience had been nothing short of a nightmare for me. It's pretty safe to say I've lost almost all of my “friends” while spending nights and weekends holed up in the library trying to pass this thing, my career's kind of gone into limbo, I've spent way too much money on the test, and I'm going to have to totally reset my social life once I'm done with it all, but so be it. Luckily I'm still young and independent, I can't begin to imagine what it's like for someone in their 30s or older with a family.
I'm going to be upset/disappointed if I didn't pass FAR and REG this period, but I won't be that crushed because at least I have ONE DOWN and I'm feeling optimistic about Audit in a few weeks (starting my 2 week wrap up review tomorrow). I have about a year to pass the other 3 sections now and I think that's more than enough time.
I'm feeling pretty hopeful you will pass. And even if you don't, try not to give up. This is an endurance test and the AICPA and NASBA WANT you to give up. You have to realize the more times you take this thing, at some point the luck of the dice will roll in your favor.
