@rmm9109: I saw in your post that you're sitting for the FAR for the sixth time now and are still using the same review course. It seems like a change is in order! I used Becker and had a great experience. It goes into great detail but keeps things understandable at the same time. You also said you sit through the lectures before doing the MCQ's–bad idea!! I couldn't imagine sitting through more than one lecture before I went back through those MCQ's, it's way way too much information. I would strongly encourage you to do at least 1 lecture, 1 set MCQ's or even 1 section within a lecture and the MCQ's for that section at a time.

    BEC 86 (08/30/11)
    FAR 84 (10/13/11)
    REG 88 (11/08/11)
    AUD 86 (11/29/11)

BEC is my beast! I've taken it numerous times also, in fact I lost my credit for AUD. I'm using BECKER and prior to Becker I used Bisk which did not prepare me as well. I also like the notes page in the software for each chapter and when I have difficulty with a concept or formula I enter it into my notes. Nightly I rewrite my notes so the info sinks in. After I lost credit for Aud I took it again- as soon as I could and passed it again. I took Reg, thought I'd failed (got discourage and stopped studying for a few days) and ended up with an 81! Honestly this is the first time in my life I've walked out of a test and not sure of how I performed?

BEC has no congruency to it….it's all over the map with formula's and concepts. Aud is Auditing, FAR is financial accounting and reporting, Reg is taxation and business law. Bec is everything else that the examiners feel we need to know..why we need to know about the different computer languages is beyond me….I'm not starting a career in IT. I'm waiting for a score for BEC from October 26, and I'm sitting for FAR at the end of this month. I suggest that you use Becker if you can…a friend of mine bought the software online- ebay- I think and paid alot less. I supplemented Becker with CPA review for free – and purchased “points to pass” for FAR. and I bought Jeff's ninja notes. Gleim (online.com) will also give you the first 2 chapters of there software for free in the hopes that you'll purchase it. It can be discouraging, believ me I know- at this point I've told my friends that I'll let them know when I'm done and not to ask until then. I KNOW I can do it and so can you….please don't give up.
