    Hi,
I am looking for someone that got an extension for an expired exam in NYS.
What reasons works? and up to how many quarters will they extend?
    Where do I contact them?

    Thank you

I've posted this before, so I will copy/paste it below. Hope this helps.

When I inquired of my state board regarding this matter, I was told that to petition the 18-month window, I needed to (1) pass all four parts of the exam and THEN (2) apply for my license. In doing so, I would have been required to attach proper documentation as to why I was not able to pass within 18-months (such as letters from physician(s), copies of military call up papers, copies of death notices, etc.). Granted, I did not have to petition the 18-month window because I successfully passed both of my exams on my next attempts, I was told that generally the board has accepted – medical conditions experienced by the applicant or a close family member; the applicant's being called into active military duty; a death in the applicant's family; hardware or software failure at the testing site; unexpected closure of the applicant's testing site due to inclement weather, etc. I was also told this would be evaluated on a case by case basis.

    Thank you for this information.

I wonder if family member medical condition would help me with them extending my exam that has expired on 06/30/2018?
Is there a phone number I can call them to find out?

    Thank you

I have heard of the State Board of Accountancy extending an expired test but it doesn't appear to be something they do lightly.

I don't know if it matters but I am wondering what your timeline is. Did your test expire in June 2018 but you passed your final exam in July 2018? If you still have one more exam then you will likely need to have a really good reason and supporting documentation to justify extending your exam expiration by more than six months.

Based on what I have read on this forum, you're fighting an uphill battle but, hey, it doesn't hurt to ask.

You can find the contact information on the website of the New York State Office of the Professions.

I only re-took my 4'th exam AUD in this window and waiting for results.
    FAR expired June 30 2018.
Trying to see if I pass this one if I have a chance of getting that first one extended.

That's a really long time but if you pass AUD, it doesn't hurt to ask. Just remember, we all have problems. Some small, some huge. You're going to need to have a pretty compelling reason for them to extend your score six months+. You mentioned a family medical condition so I would get that documentation ready. I don't know if they will bother to call anyone but just consider that if they gave out credit extensions based on the word of candidates, everyone would get extensions.

New York will not extend credit. They will require you to pass all four sections (even if one expired) then request to have the expired credit reinstated. You would still submit supporting documentation like you would for other boards when requesting an extension.

    Hi,
Does anyone here have experience with how long it would usually take for the Committee on the Professions to look at my case and make a decision if they accept?

    Thank you

I think application processing is currently running 2-3 months, so I would think that your time line will be similar.
I would start studying and reschedule FAR so you don't continue to lose scores if your effort does not pan out.

    Thank you for your response.
Question is, I sent all the documentation to the Executive Secretary and she asked me for another document in order to be able to give a recommendation which I sent her. is that enough to rely that they will accept my case?

By March 10 I already have another exam expiring.

    Thank you

No one here is going to be able to answer your question. In the meantime, I would take Recked's advice and start studying assuming you are not going to get one or both credits extended if this goes past March 10.

Don't just rely on them granting this. It's better to start studying and realize you don't have to than think they will accept your case and then they actually reject it. You'll lose time you can be using to study.
