How do u handle those annoying questions regarding the cpa exam. My office is aware i am taking the cpa and they want to know EVERYTHING. I even had one coworker track when i will find out my score next week…wtf…if i fail i would hate having to tell them

I make it obvious that i hate talking about it bc although i passed far on my first try i failed reg with a 73 and took it again…waiting on my score next week. Studied hard but the test was so hard and i dont feel too good about it but felt horrible with far too (and felt good with the 73 lol) …so can’t predict how i did. My office isn’t paying for my exam and materials so it’s not like i have any obligation to let them know everything. Its been a struggle and im halfway through studying audit now…
Just want to get this done with 🙁 praying for a passing score

My question is how to deal and respond to the nosiness…i know they mean well but its aggravating

Just give neutral answers. If they ask when you get your score just say not sure I have to check. Or if they ask when you're taking your next test just say not sure yet.

I stopped talking about it in general because I had to go to work after people knew I got a 72 and 74 in reg

    AUD-10/31/15 63, 84!

If they come and ask what my score is, then I tell them it hasn't been released. If they ask me when, I tell them “I don't know, next month or something”. If they come back next month and ask me what my score, I tell them it hasn't been released.

See where I'm going with this? 😀 Some of them mean well, and some are just plain noisy, which makes me feel really good about my responses.

I just tell everyone everything lol.
I've got 2 people I work with (boss included) who took it and passed right after school and before working. 1 person who has been working on it longer than me. 1 person who has no desire to take it and 2 people who aren't eligible.

They all ask me how it's going and I tell them.

My husband thinks maybe I shouldn't tell my boss or my direct report when I squeak by with a 76. Whatever. I'm happy and they're happy for me. (very casual work environment!)

If I didn't want to share I'd keep just telling them the scores weren't out yet. Eventually they'll realize that you just don't want to share.

Next time a co worker asks, just say you took all 4 exams on the same day, and you scored 99 across the board. It's honestly none of his/her business, and he/she will probably get the point if you respond that way.

Your office knowing you are studying means at some point you may have brought it up. And now it's becoming annoying because no one really wants to talk about possibly failing. If you had passed REG on the first try as well would them asking about your exams still come off as nosey?

I usually give one word answers and I never say when I am taking a test. If someone asks how studying is going I just say it's going and if they ask when I am taking my next test I just give a vague answer like I am still deciding on a date.

I start a new job in 2 weeks and I am not at all going to bring it up. I also schedule my tests on weekends that way people aren't wondering why I need a random day during the week off.
