new job acceptance/old job resignation – need advice on what to do next

I received an email this morning from an interviewer encouraging me to accept the offer I got on Friday. I replied an hour and a half later and cc’d the other three people I met to say that I accept the offer. None of the four have responded (I would think at least the one sending me the email would say something).

I’d like to email my resignation letter tonight, but would feel comfortable knowing that the new company has accepted my acceptance. What should I do?

you are one anxious person… no bueno… you need to have patience, i remember your other post… For one its the weekend no one might reply and for two senior managers or partners you interviewed with also might not reply( They stay busy with more important issues). It doesnt mean anything. Can I ask how old are you? If they made a serious offer to you, why would they rescind the offer? Yes it is possible but to reiterate my other comment on you last thread. Stay positive….

Ya don't resign till your background check clears and you get an offer letter. Don't be in such a hurry

If I remember right you were PwC… wait until you receive your formal offer letter and do their electronic acceptance on-line. That is when it becomes formal.

I thought you already had accepted?

Personally, I would be very leary of this entire situation. This is a big 4, and is moving very fast (in my opinion, TOO FAST).

An email on a Sunday morning is about as informal as something can get and I would not resign a job without something more formal.

Honestly I would be very worried that they seem close to as impatient as you do. Even if everything is legit, once they get the taste that you can and will ask “how high” almost before the word “jump” rolls off their tongues, expect to have high demands placed on you forever. Unless you are in a position to be out both jobs at this time, do not resign just yet.
