Hi All, I know I am in very tough situation, but I need to sit for( and pass) BEC and AUD by August 31st. I have signed up for BEC on August 30th and have not signed up for AUD yet, but can schedule it any time before August 31st.

So that is about 3 and half weeks I have to study for both of them. Also I do not have to work and have no other responsibilities and can study everyday into all hours of the night. I want to know what people think is the best strategy. Should I study for both of them at the same time? Or study for AUD for 2 weeks and then BEC for a week and a half? Or vice versa? Should I skip the lectures and just go straight to the MCQs? I have the Becker study material. Should I get other material and/or a tutor? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am very concerned. However I have heard numerous stories of people passing with only a week or two of studying. Please help!!!!

first thing check to see if you can really schedule that aud exam to make sure the seat is available…..

now ignoring the fact that u seem pretty un prepared and ready for such a serious exam, I would do each material for two weeks each with doing MCQ's only……

you shouldnt really think that if someone passed with a week of studying that you can also do the same… everyone is different……

thats my .02 cent gl and i hope you pass and not fail as that would add to the statistics of ppl that keep taking the exam to fail because there werent prepared

Sure it is possible, but there are a million variables. I would never attempt to do that, but it sounds like you are out of alternatives. Jeff recently posted on how to prepare for a section in 20 days, but not 2 sections in 27 days…his advice still may work in some ways for you…

Why the rush to sit by 8-31?

    BEC: 79 - April 2011
    FAR: 78 - May 2011
    AUD: 81 - May 2012
    REG: 79 - October 2012
    Ethics: Passed - March 2013
    I am finally DONE!

rknight's point about making sure that you can actually get a seat for AUD is a valid one.

I don't know how you ended up in this jam, but you're fortunate that AUD and BEC are the two exams that require the least amount of study for most people. Also, there is some overlap with BEC and AUD so that's a help as well.

I think that BEC requires more time than AUD, so I'd recommend scheduling AUD by 8/15 or 8/16 if you can. I felt ready for AUD after 11 days but would have liked another day with BEC. Don't study both at the same time–you'll just confuse yourself.

Read Jeff's recent post about taking FAR in 20 days–a lot of that will apply to AUD and BEC as well especially his point about not doing the lectures.

I highly recommend the Ninja notes. I didn't use them for AUD, but they were an enormous help with REG and BEC. If I'd known, I'd probably have bought them for FAR and AUD as well.

I know this can be done (look at my signature), but be prepared to give up on almost everything else in your life. My personal method was to read the text (Becker,Wiley), then work the Wiley text MCQ making notes about anything I was having trouble with. I tried to have a week for my review although it was usually only 5 or 6 days. During my review I looked at my notes, the Ninja notes, the Becker notes and did Wiley test bank questions for each section. If I had any time left, I did as many sample exams from the test bank as I could. Doing MCQ and fully understanding the answers are key to passing the exam.

    Good luck.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

BigJ, that's a tall order my friend. I think it all depends on how familiar you are with the material. Someone who is fresh out of college may have a chance. If you need to learn the material over I'd say the chances are you would need at bare minimum 4 weeks to prepare for a section and that's going pretty much all day long.

    FAR-81
    BEC-84
    AUD-91
    REG-89

I did BEC in about a month while working full-time, and I did slack off several days in that. But I did take the last week off work and study hard – it was tough. However, you're adding AUD to the mix. I did not learn from my past mistakes and am scheduled to take AUD on the 27th and only started studying today. Will be taking a 4 day trip before that and also the boss has indicated that no leave will be granted before the exam. Sooooo………God help us both! But you are right, several people have mentioned stdying for ridiculously short periods of time so I'm sure it can be done – what remains to be seen is if you and I can do it. Definitely take them one at a time and give more time to BEC – I would advise starting with chapters 3 and 5 in BEC, because the others are mostly theoretical and will require less effort. All the best!
